USB Loader r1230 is not allowing me to play/launch gamecube games. I get a message that it wants me to copy to the sd card. Every thread I read up on said an update of USB Loader would solve this. I have r1230 and everything I'm reading is an older version. Any idea guys?? this is driving me nuts

Use Nintendont to launch GameCube games instead? So much more simpler and better compatibility

    Nintendont here

    GX -
GX being stubborn and didn't want to rename

Just be warned that these can only be installed ON WII ONLY. If you try to install them on your Wii U vWii then it will brick your vWii

    The nintendont works!! thank you!

For the GX forwarder, just delete the current GX channel and download this wad upload it and I should be good to go?

Are you sure it's r1230 ? (look in the Credit page).
    Latest release is r1235

If r1230 ask to copy to SD, you either :
    installed DML
    or
setup "main gamecube path" to SD instead of USB
    or
there's a bug which need to be fixed.

I updated it to 1235 ... DML 2.11 is installed as well. Should I not have DM lite? just Dios Mios?

    - Dios Mios : your games are on your USB HDD (FAT32 partition)
    - Dios Mios Lite : your games are on your SD card

If you try to launch a GC game from an USB HDD with Dios Mios Lite, it won''t work and will ask you to copy the game to SD.

    yes, of course.

you just have to install Dios Mios WAD (with Wad Manager, YAWMM, etc.), it will replace DML.

you should stop using (the old) Dios Mios method, Nintendont is much better nowadays.

it seems your HDD is not compatible with DM. It's one of its major drawbacks (Nintendont is much more compatible).

I love USB Loader GX's user interface and how it handles covers/game titles and so on.

Does Nintendont have any similar UIs? Right now I just see a list of games

You can launch Nintendon't from recent UsbLoader GX just like DM.

    //edit

The games appear just like regular Wii titles on the ULGX, just need to change the default loader from ULGX setting to Nintendon't instead of DM.

USBLGX supports launching GC games with Nintendont...I don't see any problem ^___^
you just have to tell USBLGX, in its global options, to use Nintendont (Nintendont should be in apps\Nintendont)

look also what you can do ;) (I love the banner view, and I also like separate Wii/GC games)

    Thats sweet looking!!

As far as changing the global settings to nintendont, these are under the settings of ULGX?

That look with tab is a modification of the official release.
    He is making it.

I still wish I had time to properly add it to the official build.

    Badablek:
Do you have any banner issue with r1235?
I had report the banner preview doesn't work correctly.
AbdallahTerro recompiled it and it's fixed.

Maybe you don't have issue with your own mod either.
I don't know why my build has this problem.

I have to test it a little more to answer you more "deeply"...I did not see any banner issue (it loads like it should, butI feel like it hangs a little more than previous builds)
this is my first impression (with my mod), but I did not use this build a lot.

I'm gonna try the official build to see if it works and I'll post my results ASAP.
And this information can be useful to know : I launch USBLGX from my HDD (FAT32) and all my data (banner cache, languages, etc.) is in this partition too.

ps : I should have specify it was my own build ;) (seems obvious to me since it's named "mod" and I give the modified sources)
next time I talk about it, I will not forget that.

The issue I noticed (on vWii, I didn't do proper/enough tests, I rushed my release to fix nintendont detection issue) :
    - launch the loader
    - go to banner layout
    - banner preview are visible
    - load one, see big banner animation
    - cancel and return to main banner view .... no more banner preview are visible
You can still click on them and see big animation, but the little ones are invisible.
