Well my keyboard fell of my desk again and it finally just broke. I opened it up and thankfully the power connections are still intact. Both the data connections snapped of though. Is it safe to solder them on the wrong way? I have no way of telling what they snapped off so my only option is a guess. Thanks

Thanks FAST. I guess I have to chuck it out then. What would happen if I got them back to front?

It likely would just not work (giving you enough time to resolder the other way (I would be tempted to cut the wires though and rejoin them).

Also is there no chance of comparing fracture surfaces (or some high res photos so someone else can take a look), you would be surprised and what can actually be found out.

So no damage would be done to the computer? I knew it wouldn't work backwards. I was going to compare the solder pads to the wire and see if their was a bit a of wire left on a pad and no wire on the cable but I stupidly tinned the wire already

Soldering it backwards means you would also solder Ground to V and V to Ground...(Causes PC to shutdown)
