Hey guys,

I've got a switch which only has 3 volts on the "usb power delivery communication" pin (nr. 5 - please see images) when the original nintendo power adapter is attached. All other pins have got 0V. So I guess there is a short somewhere on the board, right? Has anyone experienced such an issue? I already removed the P13USB IC, the M92T36 IC and the BQ24193 IC but there are still 2,93V on pin number five. I compared it with a healthy board, there should be 0V on pin nr 5 and ~14V on pins 4 and 9when the power adapter is attached.

Thanks for your help!

phu, I don't know if it has been connected to a 3rd party dock, but I was using only the original one. So do you maybe know what's causing that issue, or which part on the mainboard?

Maybe a thunder strike or something? I think you are SOL if you have replaced the M92T36 and nothing happened...

ok, I reinstalled (used new IC's) the M92T36, the BQ24193 and the P13USB now I get these values on the pads of the usb port in diode mode. can anybody tell me where the wrong (red) .OL pads are going to? I thinks it's just a broken cap or something. thanks!

One thing that just occurred to me.... The sound on the 2600 sucked less back then the harsh sound we hear now is from infinitely better speakers we have now, back when the 2600 was new speakers produced a almost muffled sound, like CRTs made old graphics look slightly better.
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
I wonder if I could recommend that to some emulation devs that perhaps the sound could use some smoothing out to simulate those old TVs
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
I think a few of the early systems could benefit from that, at least up to the 8 bit generation, by the 16 bit generation I think TVs had gotten a lot better in almost every way

it says it only works for the original R4, R4i Gold (r4ids.cn), R4iDSN (r4idsn.com) and Acekard R.P.G.

Just give it a try, but honestly if you have a 3DS you can play DS games without a card just off the internal SD card
