I've had my Wii modded for years, and have been using USBLoader GX to rip and play my games to a USB drive. I got my kids Barbie & Her Sisters: Puppy Rescue and it asked for an update, even though I was on 4.3. I did some google-ing and let it do the update. Now I've been having all kinds of problems. Best I can figure it corrupted my USB drive. I started reworking everything. Redid wii.guide/cios.html. Downloaded Homebrew Browser and used that to update USBLoader GX V 30r1272 and get CFG Loader V70 249. Got a new USB drive, formatted it, and put my disc backups on there from the PC. Now I can play the backups I already had, but I cannot backup games using the loaders. Both USBLoader GX and CFG start the rip and then freeze. CFG is freezing at the exact same percentage every time, no matter how long I let it sit. It was stuck at 8.05% for a couple hours last night. Discs play fine in the wii, but I'd like to be able to load the game from USB without messing with the discs. CleanRip did appear to complete, but I'd really like something that rips to wbfs instead of split ISOs. Anyone have any idea what might be going on here? TIA

Please try and change in the USB Loader GX Settings - Loader Settings the Loader´s IOS from IOS 58 to 249 and Re-Boot please.
(and please change it back after you are finished with the Ripping Process and Re-Boot please, otherwise you maybe experience Troubles with the HDD/USB Device Initialization)

Good Luck.:)

Did you have tried it with the Loader´s Setting IOS58 too maybe please ?
Did you maybe have used/tried @blackb0x Release (it is now the "official" further Developement of the USB Loader GX.

My drive is plugged into port 0.
I just reformatted the drive to FAT32 with WiiBackupManager
I'm copying existing backups back over and when is done I'll try to rip again, then try using ios58, then try the newest blackb0x release.
Thanks for all the tips!

@SpiderSpartan Hey! If you have a disc drive for your PC, you can rip the wbfs file from your disc and avoid all this, or if you have iso images of your games ripped from your game discs, you can convert them into wbfs files too.

I had an external USB disc drive for my PCs, but I can't seem to find it right now.

I formatted my USB drive to FAT32 using WiiBackupManager, tried using IOS58 on USBLoader GX, and tried using the latest USBLoader GX from blackb0x linked above. I'm starting to think it may be a hardware issue with my wii DVD drive. Guess I'll try to find my PC DVD drive and rip games that way, just a bummer to have to add steps compared to ripping directly on the Wii. Thanks for all the help guys.

So today I picked up a new 240GB Inland SSD and a Sabrent enclosure. Plugged that into the wii and looks like I'm back in business. Guess I'll use the other drive as a backup storage so I can copy the games over in 1 shot instead of ripping them 1 by 1 if this drive ever fails. Thanks again for all the troubleshooting help, but this might have been a simple hardware issue.
