Hello, in the last few months i have been seeing more and more CFW for 3DS and i was looking for a helpful hand in upgrading my 3DS to his most glorious installment! My New3DS XL (dunno if it has any impact) is currently in version 4.5 E8 and im looking for help in upgrading it to a newer version of firmware and learn how to use all types of applications in the 3DS. Is there any help thread for really old new3ds versions with a list of risks and advantages in updating its version?

Thank you for any feedback and I hope i can learn more from this community!

P.S. I have a gateway card with the last version!

Well i already learnt something new today! I didnt knew it was a Old 3DS XL, how can you know its a old or a new 3ds? Apart from the version that looks like it cant be 4.5.
So just following the 3ds Guide and install the right things correctly? What is safer the browser version or the no browser version for the 3DS guide?

Do you have another joystick/nub on the right side? If no, then you have an old school 3DS. The firmware version is anyhow too low to be anything but an old school version.

You need a DS flashcart to do the no browser version. If your firmware is 4.5.0-8, you should be able to do the browser exploit.

@Veho, Sounds and smells like bullshit. They don't give you cancer, and California should know that. I don't get why they stick labels that say "may or may not cause reproductive harm or cancer".

Arsenic doesn't give you cancer either.

California has already banned those additives BTW.
