Hacking Updating to Gateway Ultra 3.1.1

So I am trying to update my gateway firmware to the latest update to play codename steam. I am currently on firmware 2.3b and have a classic 3ds which is on 4.4u firmware. Question I have is will the gateway ultra 3.1.1 work on classic 3ds? Reading the info on the site, it just talks about for new 3ds. Also if you could link a good guide to update i'd appreciate it.

Yes it works fine, I've used it on my 3DS XL with no issue, just drop the newest launcher.dat from gateways 3.1.1 download section on your sd card and you're done

if you mean the gateway firmware dont update past 9.5 since 9.6 dont work in gateway mode yet i hope that changes soon. i got a club nintendo 3ds game i want

should i update to 3.0 or 3.1.1 ultra? im not really sure which one updates to 9.5 and 9.6. also, do you have to go to the website on your 3ds browser for gateway only if it is past 4.5 firmware?

Installing gateway 3.1.1 uses the same method of exploit as before with the ds cart providing you stay 4.5fw or below, you'll only need to use the web exploit if you update your 3DS system firmware and I wouldn't recommend that.

To update gateway all you have to do is replace the launcher.dat on your SD card with the new one. If it has an update to the fgateway card it will then flash the card with its update and everything is good then. Otherwise it's all the same as you've ever done

Here a tutorial if you're still having trouble.

1. Go to http://www.gateway-3ds.com/
2. Go to download section
3. Open the GATEWAY ULTRA 3.1.1 PUBLIC BETA folder
4. Open the GW_Ultra_3.1.1(Public Beta) and find the Launcher.dat
5. Take your SD card out of your 3DS and connect it to your PC
6. Drag the Launcher.dat to the SD card
7. Run gateway as usual via the ds exploit and it'll update the gateway card
8. You're done

The OP hasn't stated which emuNAND they have yet, just that they have 4.4fw and I'm guessing they probably don't know judging by the direction this thread is going lol
