Hi everyone! My question is how do I go about updating my vita game backups. Can I just update it like normal? Or do I have to download the update on PC and manually copy it to the vita? Thanks guys!

As the posters above said, NoNpDRM games can be updated from the Live Area because they're encrypted and licensed, albeit faked. However, if you're using NPS Browser on PC you can download the updates and DLC at the same time as the game, then just copy everything over to ux0.
