I'm scared of messing up so I would like someone to simply tell me the right steps to update my New 3ds XL (FW 11.7 ; Luma ; B9S).
Do I need to put the latest Luma on my SD card first or update first....
Oh, and I used Freeshop for all my games if that matters (my region and out of region games)

Thanks a lot to whoever helps me

just make sure you got luma 9.1 first, make sure your b9s is updated to the latest and then yes a regular update will work fine

My b9s seems to be the latest, since the latest version is from 2017 (installed it this year)
Do I just need to replace the luma file?
Should I delete all my games first or can I keep playing them?
Sorry for all the questions

Replace boot.firm on your SD and copy it to CTRNAND (to be able to boot without SD; fail safe mechanism) like explained on the guide.

Why would you want to delete your games?! Freeshop is dead, yes, but this has no impact on already installed titles. All installed games will continue to work with 11.9.

Turn on the 3DS and hold (Select) button to boot Luma3DS configuration. If you don't see v9.1, you should follow Updating B9S.
Afterwards, you update the 3DS firmware in either System Settings or Recovery Mode.

If you don't have Luma3DS v9.1 and update the 3DS firmware first, you'll just get a "Failed to Apply Firm patch(es)" error. This is fixable by the above updating guide.
