Hacking updating firmware...

how do you do it?? ive downloaded the 2.9 software pakage and it came with updagcsd.e29 ( for SD cards) i tried to put it on my SD card but the M3 game manager (also V2.9) just crashes when i try to write it. do i need to write it as a GBA rom or somthing? ive also tried to just drag it onto my SD card not using game manager and still the M3 adapter dosnt recognise it or install it or anything.

it still seems to play games ok, but id rather have it up too date. would be gratfull for any help

you don't use the game manager to put that on, you just copy it in the root of the memory card and then start the m3 in GBA/DS mode to update. I suggest gba mode to be safer since it hangs sometimes in ds mode.
