Hacking Updating eShop games with N3DS and Gateway

I was beginning to play Azure Striker Gunvolt but noticed there is a patch available as of March and I'd rather wait till I can apply it. I have an N3DS on 9.0.0 with a Gateway. Is there a way to patch without connecting to the eShop? Should I look for a dump someone has done of the update, and if so, what form would it be in? A CIA or just some files I need to extract to the system SD card?

I have an old 3DS with the latest emuNAND. If I patch the game using it, how would I go about transferring it to my N3DS? Would it need to be re-signed or similar?

You can just download updates in CIA format from a certain iso site. I update all my games with CIA updates for both my O3DS and N3DS. Just copy CIA updates to your SD (O3DS) or internal microSD (N3DS) and use SD wireless management.

    If your throat closes, putting oxygen in your mouth will not solve anything - as you will be introducing oxygen prior to the area of obstruction
