Hacking Updating emuNAND to specific firmware?

I use Gateway and I would like to be able to update my emuNAND to 9.x so that I can use themes + NINJHAX
Is there any way to do this?
I read somewhere that Gateway doesn't allow updating emuNAND via game cart, so the idea I thought about is to update sysNAND to 9.x with a cart and then back the firmware up to restore to emuNAND. But I dont know if that will work.

Also, does anyone know of a game that has a 9.x update?

go on a website with 3ds romz with ISO in the name.
find 9.2 update
install using BBM/devMenu

I just used my cart of Mario vs Donkey Kong: Tipping Stars and launched EmuNAND while holding up on the dpad, got the update prompt when launching the game, and hey presto EmuNAND was updated to 9.4

I'm not sure about ROMs though

Emunand updated to 9.5 with N3DS 9.5 update data CIAs (ask google)

Also downgraded Mset with no problems, DS Profile exploit works fine
