My psp is 3.71 m33 and I want to update it and dont know how. And do you have to update to the official firmware first or go ahead with the 3.80 m33?

dont update to offical. You need to download the offical than you need to download the m33 version. Follow the directions in the readme file. It's pretty simple compared to the older installs. You can download m33 firmware at many psp homebrew sites.

You need to download the official 3.90, you can get it from here:

    http://www.psp-hacks.com/file/1406

Once you have the EBOOT.PBP, rename it to 390.PBP, then poot it in the root of your memory stick.
