No offence, but you need to read a little, and expect new ap almost every time a new dsi firmware is released. Good luck on finding somebody near you though.

Not that this helps you, but it seems totally inconceivable to me that anyone....and I mean anyone....does not have a relative, friend, work colleague, work colleague of parent, good friend of a friend, that owns either a DSL/Phat or DSi running FW 1.3. Everybody I know has at least one DS console in the household.

I read on here someone had the "balls" to go into their local gaming store and asked to borrow a DSL and put their AK2i in it to run the update fix. Should prior suggestions fail, maybe you have a specialist console shop (ie. sells flashcarts, PS & Wii Mods) or even a local computer market (swap meet) where traders sell flashcarts, ds & accessories. Surely either of those would let you borrow one (or even run it for you).

Guys, if you were from Czech Republic or Slovakia, maybe I should help. I am "updating" these cards for my forum mates, but only for these two lands. I do it for free, but need a "shipping cost" from owner of updated card.

USA is too far from me, and dont know how much it will cost to send it here and back - dont know how many time takes this little trip...

If you will like to try my "services", just PM me.
But I dont guarantee for lost or damage card when sending via post. You will sending it on your own risk.
Dont have to be afraid, I am confidential - here is prove ->

Try sending the AK2i to somebody who has a DSLite on GBAtep, if you can trust him.

You must update it to 1.4 in DSL

So the concept of "moving" doesn't make any sense to you? [IMG]

Personally I got my DSi just a few weeks ago from Walmart, so it came with 1.4U, I've moved recently so I don't know anybody in this city, and my siblings that do have a DS/Lite are multiple states away.

I put an ad on craigslist (offering some money for the trouble). It took a few days, but I eventually got an interested party that could actually make it over to my place. Most of the responses were mothers/fathers that didn't know a thing about the DS/Lite other than their son/daughter had one, so it should be easy to get a response in a few days, especially if you live in a city. The idea of offering to meet at some fast food place and buy dinner is actually a good one.

First thing, I'm sure OP would have arranged something by now and I'm pretty certain any one of my suggestions would have seen him through these 'difficult and distressing times' [IMG]
Your recommendation is lame, n00b. I'm not sure what price one puts on running a flashcart's free small updater file on a readily available gaming console....but buying dinner for a total stranger is way over the top (if not dangerous). Gaming markets / specialist shops (ones that sell flashcarts) would almost certainly assist with these matters of borrowing a DSL to update your flashcart

Don't even ask them to borrow there DS lite.
    You have multiple options here.

Ask them I want to buy a used DS lite and tell them first I want to see if it works properly they will give it to you to see for 5min and in that 5min update your Acekard 2i and give him the DS lite back and say you think its broken or something.

2nd option: If you have the money go buy a used DS lite and update your Acekard 2i you have a 7 day warranty to give them the DS lite back so you could give it back to GameStop for a full refund.

3rd: Wait until someone that looks friendly comes in to GameStop and you could ask them if they have a DS lite with them. If they do ask them if you can update your acekard.

Do not ask the GameStop employee to use the DS lite to update your Acekard because why will he say Yes he would be loosing money that way because you won't buy any games.

Yes, but not everybody has one of those within a reasonable distance. "Reasonable distance" for somebody with a car is much more than for somebody 14, so it really depends on the person.

Listen, I'm not going to continue with this useless crap....but may I point out you joined GBAtemp to have a crack at me over a post that the OP had thanked me for. My post was NOT made to offend him, nor did I intend for you to give a running commentary on your view of socioeconomic matters [IMG]
You are assuming OP is around 14 yrs old. Therefore, your prior comment regarding "(if not dangerous)" would certainly support my argument that "an encounter" such as what you had, would not be appropriate for a child .

There's two offers I did get from people under the age of 18, one would have had their parents with them (dropping them off somewhere), and the other would have met me while volunteering at the local aquarium/marine science center, but it turned out to be closed that weekend due to a few inches of snow (I'm a few blocks off the beach in virginia, so snow isn't a common thing).
