If I update my Wii using the Animal Crossing DVD what will I lose in terms of homebrew etc? I have a Cyclonwiz installed right now

I have a modded Wii with Homebrew Channel installed. a couple of Wii-ware games and thats about it.

this is my kids system so I cant rely on him loading different apps in order to just play the games or bypass updates.

Im sorry but the scene has gotten way confusing with som many patches and apps to do the same thing anymore. Can someon help me out.

I'm not really into the modchip scene but why is it that you guys don't use Wii Brick Blocker?

    hmm, what firmware you on?
if your on 3.3 downgrade to 3.2 and then install starfall patches on wiibrew [IMG] then that will prevent disc updates, and will gain a few more nice patches like recovery menu etc.
just make sure the kids don't do a real system update [IMG]

My son updated our Wii with the Animal Crossing DVD (legit retail disc). The update added IOS38 but not IOS51. I block our Wii at our router, so no Internet update is possible.

Before the update I had cIOS rev7 installed as IOS249, and HBC b8 installed. No other "custom" channels or IOS installed. After the update I can still use HBC and every app that I tried (gamma, HTTP disc dumper, emulators, AnyTitle Deleter, etc...).
