Hacking Update Smash Bros 3DS without updating 3DS firmware

surely this has come up for people, I can't find anything on. I would like to update my smash bros game without losing my browserhax.
my current firmware is 10.1.0-27U on a New 3DS XL.

if theres not a way to update it, how about manually placing the DLC update on my system?
not up to date on then 3ds homebrew scene, help is much appreciated.

To install things on your system you need to be on 9.2 or less. Otherwise, no go.

Even so, you still need to have emunand on a certain version to use said updates, just like you would without homebrew. They havent found a way to have game updates firmware spoofed yet.
