Releasing in the coming months is one of the bigger third-party exclusives for the Nintendo Switch--Astral Chain--which is being developed by the beloved Platinum Games. During an interview with IGN Benelux, the director of Astral Chain, Takahisa Taura, commented on if the game would have any DLC, saying that while there's no DLC planned for release, Platinum has developed this new IP with the intentions of it being the first part of a trilogy. In terms of story, there's enough content to cover two more games in the future. However, whether we see those sequels in the future relies on how well Astral Chain sells, when it releases on August 30th.

Is it just me or does this game seem the least interesting out of Nintendo's lineup this year? It doesn't even necessarily look bad its just i have no excitement towards this game.

Thought the same after the Trailers, then saw it in action at Treehouse and now I´m very excited and I really look forward to it.

I actually think this is the most underrated game coming to the switch for third parties. I haven't played many platinum games but the gameplay and trailers for this one looks fun.

I guess i'll have to watch the treehouse segment.

NOT EVERY studio releases master piece from the begining of their career: Even from software made some garbage like KUON, but we don't burry them with criticism.

We almost remember Platinum for making Metal gear Rising, Bayonetta, vanquish and Nier automata, especially the last one, such gorgeous butt :3

Nier wasn't theirs to begin with and was made by the same guy who made Drakengard but they helped out with Automata. Vanquish was an okay game but not so over the top great. Bayonetta was a good game but also not some worth remembering like the bigger classics over the years and combat kinda became boring after a while, metal gear rising was also a good game but again not perfect so i really don't get the love for that studio when there were mostly 3 okay games they made and that's it. The bad games they made were a lot more than 3.

I'm not, read my first comment. I asked people genuinely what makes Platinum games great to them and still haven't gotten a clear answer. Don't try to spin a different narrative please. they only made 3 bad games avatar,tmnt and starfox zero.

Well i'll give you an example, i loved Rare games because they made colourful happy worlds i was genuinly interested in, the sound design was just perfect for those worlds they made and they somehow kept creating new characters without loss of quality. I could play hours without end especially in the later 3D ones i could explore and do so many different kind of things. I normally hate collecting all kinds of things but Rare made it so that it became fun to collect. See that's how you can give an honest opinion about a studio what makes them great without handing out a list of games.
