Anonymous is just a name. It can be anyone. People that don't know who to blame will blame anonymous because that's the only name left behind at the moment. Anonymous, as a whole, can't be blamed because I'm sure there were people who agreed to back off and leave the customers alone.

Sony failed to protect millions of people.

The Playstation brand is destroyed forever.

Going before the courts will only bring more bad PR and public resentment.

You can cancel your credit card but guess what? The hackers still have your home address, telephone number, email address, and other personal information.

It's over. Sony is finished.

This^^

I would not believe how many times I have seen on this forums of people seeing "anonymous" as that group of people who posted the youtube video. Do you know how easy anyone in the world can use that name? Sure they can use fake names, but it is a lot more intense when a ton of random people all use that one name.

People forget too easily.
Especially when companies throw money at them.
Wait for the huge PSN ad's on TV etc. and free stuff for buying games on PSN etc. etc.

If ever Sony have a problem, they just throw money at it until it goes away.

They never promised to protect you. You could just as well write that information down on a piece of paper, put it on the ground infront of a police officer and expect him to protect your property.

You didn't have to input it to use PSN. You did so regardless. Silly you.

Didn't stop Sony/Apple/Microsoft before, it'll not stop it now.

No. You're wrong. Completely wrong. It is their obligation to protect their consumers. That's implied the second you join PSN. Why do you think Sony is being forced to go before the US government? Because they failed to protect their consumers.

Didn't in the terms and conditions they say something about them not being responsible for theft of details or something?
