- Menu screen cleaned up: No longer "glitchy rotating selection" and instead a more tradtional 2D layout as expected.
- Extra Modes are now locked untill conditions fullfilled.
- Remixed music significantly improved. (Drumbeats make a huge difference!)
- Sound mixing fixed. Raining EXP drops are no longer deafening to the ears.
- Map screen no longer covers the entire screen with black. Instead it overlays the map on top of the play.
- Script: "Examinate further" has been corrected to "Examine further"

Oh, happy day!

I was beginning to wonder if this update would ever see the light of day. I'm glad the developers kept their promise!

I'm stoked for the fixed music!

Let's just hope that ANY version of cave story will come out in Europe soon! Can't stand all this wait! And I swear to someone that I will rage out totally if the long wait is ONLY because of translations (Sucks to be in Sweden, have to wait for ages for games to be translated into other european languages which we don't even have any use for).

So, has anyone heard the improved music? I've been wondering for a while if the remixed songs were in fact victim to bugs and glitches, or if they were simply inferior to the original renditions.

And all across google, the only mention of that is a .nfo style page on a paste bin look-alike site.

Uh huh.

Edit: Nvm, the .nfo is also on ROM News. But still.

I can't find it either. You know, this kind of thing is always a problem for me. I keep looking, and the one place I have that might have it doesn't have it at all.

Oh well, guess I'll just wait it out. >.<

yep, a few things fixed. Still a shitty port.

I'm surprised they even bothered, I had thought Nicalis, Inc was gonna drop support.
Once they started telling people about heir DLC scheme they started getting more and more shady.
Heck they never update their blog site anymore.
It all seems shoddy and cheap to me.
Took them years to complete a basic port and another year to make a few fixes. (a few creds though to compensate for Nintendo's approval system.... which is odd they even look at anything anyway)
I really just can't take that company seriously.
Any other games they release I'm staying way clear from.
Besides, most of them have a free version for the PC anyway......

Well enough complaining. Gave me a reason to play the broken mess again at least. Sad that it'll be the last update for the game.
Hopefully Pixel will move to a more professional company for any future games if he does any.
