Hacking Update CFW from 9.2.0-20E, don't know what to do :(

Hi!

A long time ago (3 years ago in fact), I installed a CFW on my N3DS.
I am able to play to some games, but now, a lot of recent games are stuck on the Nintendo 3DS loading screen (with the "red waves" animation).

I would like to update my system to be able to load recent games, but I really don't know how to do that (i've seen the 3DS Noob paradise thread)
I don't really remember what softwares I have installed, but here is some info :

- The console parameters tells my : Sys 9.2.0-20E
- When I launch the console with the Start Button pressed, it opens me "GodMode9 Explorer 1.2.1".
- I have on my 3DS menu, I have "FBI" v2.4.8

What can I do to update my system?

Given the "3 years ago" and that firmware, I bet there will be neither.

I can't make SafeB9Installer launching from Hombrew Launcher. I launch "udsploit", then "safehax".. but It just freeze.

Is there something special to do because I already have a CFW?

Try launching SafeB9SInstaller through luma3DS chainloader. Use this guide:

• Updating B9S

* There is one issue. Because you have very old Luma3DS v7.1, keep the boot.firm on the root of the SD card.
After you update to boot9strap v1.3, swap out the boot.firm for Luma3DS v9.1 and then continue on with the guide.
After completing everything, especially the CTRNAND section, test if the 3DS boots without SD card.

Newer versions of Luma3DS need newer boot9strap.

You are supposed to launch SafeB9Installer from within the Luma chainloader menu. Follow the directions found at https://3ds.hacks.guide/updating-b9s.

Ok the update of B9S (and GodMode9, and Luma3DS) went great using this guide.
I've updated FBI too.

But now i'm confused, what is the link between the Luma3DS version and the version number displayed in the console parameters?
What do I need to do? Make an update of the firmware?..

Yes, update the 3DS firmware in System Settings. For peace of mind, back up your SysNAND and keep the *.bin image on a computer or external hard drive.

Also periodically make backups of your saves + extdata with Checkpoint or JKSM.

It is safe to although you might not be able to update. There are several factors when it comes to updating:

• what type of game you have (Type 1 vs Type 2, informal terms by Ryccardo)
  
• whether the game has a legit ticket you bought from Nintendo eShop (if type 2 game)
  
• whether the game's external update has a legit ticket (if type 1 game)
• whether the game is out of region from your native regional Nintendo eShop

There hasn't been any reports of anyone getting banned for a failed update if they have spoofed/fake ticket for the game itself (type 2) or external title update (type 1).
