New rumours surfacing stating WiiU is around 50% more powerful than current gen consoles, powered by ibm quad core.

Epic “has not confirmed platforms for Unreal Engine 4 beyond PC.”
This statement is giving WiiU fans a bit more confidence than a "no comment" comment. Make of it what you will.

It's rumor, not news. You just said so yourself.

Yes but the Havok story is not rumour. Plus the post saying WiiU not getting unreal 4 was not only rumour, but proven false. Whens that getting moved?
Mods hate positive Wii-U articles, don't you know? :)

Infact they have front paged negative Wii-U rumours, not even clear facts. When positive Wii U news come from the dev themselves, more reliable than anonymous unknown people it will never see the daylight of being front paged. B-)

I think the Wii U will probably be able to run Unreal Engine 4 based games with some modifications. I think realistically the 360 and PS3 are out of the question, maybe even the next generation consoles from their manufacturers as well depending on specifications, but more then likely neither will drastically outpower the Wii U. The thing is that all manufacturers are going to want to make a profit, aside from Microsoft but even they know that another 600+ dollar blunder will cost them market share next generation, exactly what Sony did this generation.

At the end of the day though, Unreal Engine 4 is going to be the next step in gaming engine technology, maybe even id's Doom 4 based engine will be up there, and no current console will be capable of running that technology graphically.

Also, pretty sure it was confirmed by IBM and Nintendo that the Wii U would be running the same quad core processor that the Watson computer uses.

when did unreal become the benchmark for the gaming industry? -.-;
When Unreal 1 was released, proving that 3D doesn't have to look sh*t, open-air levels are entirely doable, enemies don't have to be retarded grunts and that you can in fact create particle effects that don't look like bottlerockets.

Since the first incarnation of the Unreal engine, it became the ultimate example of how multi-purpose engines should be made, the sheer amount of games powered by Unreal technology is off the charts, Unreal are not just your average engines - they're legendary. Even Unreal 1 still looks eyepleasing with the right treatment.

No it didn't. It was a rumour based on weak evidence that's been debunked. The irony here is that it's been debunked in the exact two threads you just posted. The only reason why anyone ever thought it was Unreal-based was that it has a folder named "cooked" which is also present in the Unreal 2 engine. Except "cooked" is a common term in computer science and has nothing to do with Unreal whatsoever. In fact, the folder's there due to the fact that it's a term used in Maya - the rendering software used to create 3D animation and effects in the game.

Lesson for the future: read your source before you post it.

I was litterally just linking a source to a post I read a while back. It wasnt debunked when I read about it, in fact people had accepted it. But you are correct.
