Now that it was just inveiled...
Probably nobody would agree with me, but I just find entire Switch 2 situation a bit disappointing.
I know people called it Switch 2 out of simplicity that the community used to refer to Nintendo console of uncertain name, and never actually expected Nintendo to call it like that, but to have Nintendo actually call it Switch 2, they took a name of their previous console and put a chronological number at the end of it... it's cursed to me. Has anyone seen NES 2 or GameCube 2? Also development codenames. Ultra64, Dolphin, NX... Switch 2? Really?
But, from what it seems, the name actually seems accurate. So far it doesn't seem to be anything more than Switch with better hardware and ergonomics. I always got the impression that Nintendo likes experimenting with new gimmicks, which is either hit (wii, switch), or miss (Wii U), and that separates them from the rest of the main consoles. So far it doesn't seem Switch 2 will have any. I totally understand that people may not want gimmicks and just want plug and play functionality. But it looks like Nintendo really struck gold with Switch, and don't feel a need to do anything more.
on a lighter note, it was announced on my birthday
