If this was the official kernel, this would have been 1.20 +. thanks for the update but i dont have my DSTT and we're going to abandone it since I'll be giving my old Acekard 2.1 to my sis who happens to have my first gen DSTT.

But I'll update it with this one so I can play some games on this little baby.

Now, I wonder if this update will work in YS Menu?

Thank you, 2 questions however.

1 - Will this work in YSMenu?
2 - Does this firmware fix NRL Mascot Mania and AFL Mascot Manor autosave issues? As these Roms do not seem to autosave at all when in fact they should.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but the games that were fixed in this update were, before this, fixed by the use of ysmenu. I don't have a DSTT myself but, for example, I've heard of FF Crystal Chronicles Echoes of Time not working with 1.17, and after advising them to use YSMenu, replied again saying that "IT WORKED THANK YOU". I've seen the same for Bleach Dark Souls, where it wasnt working in 1.17 but works fine in YSmenu. The new savlib.dat library is only useful for japanese users because it only adds (J) games compared to the old one, and the infolib.dat updates are still outdated (go to http://sites.google.com/site/weeklyinfolib/ for newer ones). As well as that, again I'm not sure because I don't have a DSTT, but I'm using YSmenu on r4 and I've never had any problems with homebrew compatibility.

So isn't it redundant to try and use this for YSmenu, seeing as it doesnt have anything that YSmenu didnt have before?

Thanks for posting this. If anyone confirms that this works and whether or not it works with YSMenu (and whether or not it fixes anything that YSMenu doesn't already fix) please let me know so I can modify the FAQ accordingly. I'll also post a local copy of this (replace the current fake-killer disabled firmware) and link it into the FAQ.

Yes it does work with YSMenu. I haven't tried all the games in the release notes but here's what I've found so far -

GTA:CW works without cheat code
FFCC:EoT saves without cheat code
Naruto Shippuden Ninja Council 4 works (does not freeze on title screen)
Tropix works
Pokemon Platinum generates a 1Mb save file
SWCW:Jedi Alliance not working - freezes with black screen upon loading

It should also be noted that I'm using YSMenu on an R4 card having generated it with R4YSauto. Here's a version of V1.17a01 optimised for use with R4YSauto - http://www.mediafire.com/download.php?2nwmw3eemom

SWCW:Jedi Alliance does not work for me either, but I am also using R4+YSMenu. Has anyone gotten SWCW:Jedi Alliance to work on their DSTT's without the use of YSMenu? If not, then I wouldn't call it very fixed, lol.

I also wondered the same thing.

Also I'm sure EVERYBODY will be pleased to learn that Hello Kitty: Big City Dreams now works without using a premade save file.

Silly question, but why not just update usercheat.dat while you were at it?

Also, are the compatibility updates all because of INFOLIB.DAT and SAVLIB.DAT or are there actual software changes to the loader?

There appear to be actual software changes, though the compatibility fixes seem to be greatly exaggerated.

Tested on R4DS with YSMenu0903270000.zip (latest), made the manual way (not r4ysauto).

Chrono Trigger (US) - works
Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles: Echoes of Time (US) - works
Grand Theft Auto: Chinatown Wars (US) - works
Star Wars The Clone Wars: Jedi Alliance (US) - does not work
Star Wars The Clone Wars: Jedi Alliance (EU) - does not work

cheers

I think most of the changes are to the infolib.dat, savlib.dat, and dldi.dat files, but TTMENU.DAT has also changed from the hacked 1.17 version, so there are undoubtedly some changes to the loader as well.

Star Wars Cone Wars seems to work fine on a *scds1(bliss-> direct boot to dstt firmware) with this firmware... at last! at least i'm playing the first level now

could be a save file generation error with the y's menu??

edit.. whoops forgot i was actually using a scds1 running DSTT firmware.. same thing though

Some of the additional compatibility is due to the savlib.dat (Daigasso Band Brothers and Made in Ore certainly fall into this category) and some are fixed by software changes. The infolib.dat only decreases loading times, it has nothing to do with compatibility.

Upload your save file and I'll try it on R4/YSMenu.
