Gaming Unlock gold mario in Mario Kart Deluxe

Hello,

I have a question: Do I need 3 stars in every cup when playing 200 ccm mode in order to unlock gold mario? Or do I need 1 star at least?

I have read different things. So I want to ask.

I believe it is 3 stars.

To unlock Gold Mario, you'll have to complete all Grand Prix Cups on 200cc and get Gold Trophies on all of them

I just finished all cups in 200 cm without getting 3 stars and I unlocked gold mario
