It seems this information is not really known by a lot of people, so I thought I should probably make a thread to try to inform people about it.
You can actually unlink your Nintendo Account from a Switch remotely, even if the Switch is offline. In theory this means that as long as your Nintendo Account isn't banned, you should be able to unlink your account from a banned switch to then reconnect it to a new unbanned system.
It's literally as easy as opening a web browser on your computer/phone and hitting a few buttons.
1. Go to accounts.nintendo.com and sign in to the account you wish to unlink from your switch
2. Go to "Shop Menu", and then click "Deregister Primary Console"
3. Enter your Nintendo Account password, then click "Deregister" twice to confirm.
That's really all it takes. The only downside is that you can only use this method once a year.
It's literally an official way provided by Nintendo.
