a complete noob here. yesterday i installed the HBC and some other channels successfully using the "Wii Softmodding for Dummies" guide. and the game that i burned to a disc was working correctly....but today, my daughter decided to clean up the channels and deleted a load of them (including HBC, backup launcher).
i tried to use the "Wii Softmodding for Dummies" guide again to reinstall the HBC etc, but it was having none of it. i reformatted the card several times and in the end it worked using the "wad manager". to cut the long story short, i've managed to get the HBC and backup launcher channels back on to the wii (after hours of trying). but for some reason, i can't play any backed up games. i keep on getting a black screen and the disc keeps on spinning and making noises.
i read on other forums that it's because ios37 was installed and i should uninstall it. i've checked the system files using "any title deleter" and the ios was not installed.
in using the "Wii Softmodding for Dummies", it did not mention anything to make a nand back-up before files were installed. is there any way that i can restore the wii back to v3.1. just as if it was a virgin wii, without bricking it? or if i was to update to v3.2 will that fix the problem? and if i was to update to v3.2, will the update still contain some files thats already on the wii from the v3.1 install?
