Hacking Unable to Install Homebrew Channel

I'm using Letterbomb on a 4gb SDHC card that I used to hack my old wii. I get all the way through the hackmii installer, and verify that I, indeed, want to install homebrew channel. It then crashes saying "Exception (DSI) occurred!" and then a string of numbers. The installer.log it gave me is below. I'm a complete newbie when it comes to these things, so just talk to me as if you were talking to an 80 year old grandmother please. XD

Which System Version Software has your Wii please ? (SDHC Support only from Version v.4.0x up).
Please try a regular SD Card (not a microSD with Adapter) with 2 GB NON SDHC for the Exploit.
The SD Card should be formatted with FAT/FAT32 please.
Please check the Write Protection Slider on the SD Card.

I have the system updated to 4.3U, at least that's what it says on the settings. The mac reads it as fat32 and the slider is in the correct position, so I suppose I'll order that sd card. Thanks for the help!

You don't need a new SD in that case, Your wii should support it.

Hmm, I wonder what the issue is then. It is able to access the sd card, like when I click on it in the wii menu. It all seems to work okay, the exploit just doesn't seem to work.

WAIT A MINUTE, I see the IOS249 is already on your Wii! Was that wii softmodded before?

I've seen some cases where Hackmii Installer won't work if Wii was already modded, This might be the case.

You can run homebrew programs via letterbomb by changing the boot.elf file in your SD card to other program's elf file.

Get a syscheck app from here, take the boot.elf file from the zip file and place it in your sd card's root directory, Boot your wii and run the letterbomb again. This time your wii will run the syscheck application. Follow the instructions on the link above and post the result here.

EDIT: This will get informations about IOSes that's installed on your wii, That might help resolving this whole situation. It's not that hard as this is just matter of swapping a single file, press some buttons and post the result here. since Your wii can actually launch .elf files, I don't think SD card is faulty.

Remove the hackmii installer from the root of your SD, and put the boot.dol of that homebrew directly in the root (hopefully it doesn't need AHBPROT)

Those "cioses" are most likely the stock stubs, though

K, I did that and am now on the wii, but I have no clue how to access the boot.dol. It's not showing up on the sd card, and the bomb letter is gone (because I removed the private folder I guess)

Damn... Something is really screwed up in there. I'm afraid I'm not expert enough to troubleshoot this, but It definitely seems like Previous owner did something to the wii. This wouldn't happen on stock Wii...
