Today i woke up tv was fine and stuff my bro and my stupid step dad were playing ps3 on it idk for how much they played but it was alot as in maybe the hole frekin day =w=....

So after i finish using my desktop pc i wanted to see a movie and play some zelda while watching the movie... i tried turning it on i sit down and i play zelda while i wait for the tv to boot. all i hear were sounds but no pictures... so i tried turning it off and on about 5 times. Nothing was accomplished

So then i just unplugged it. ima try and see if it turns on after i unplugged it for like 30 minutes...
Basically i get a black screen when i turn it on and its only sounds that i hear from channels, even the booting messege doesn appear
the booting messege is: PHILIPS 3 seconds later tv is on... but not this timei get the black screen with sound
Any of you guys know anything about T.v's? thanks in advance
Its a 42' Philips LCD, HDMI and blah blah =w=....

Leave it unplugged for a while and then try turning it back on. If that doesn't do the trick, your TV may have run its course and the backlight may have burnt out.

Yes. If it still doesn't work, tell your stupid step dad, see if it's under warranty, and then contact the company you bought it from, or contact Philips.

It depends on the company, and the people who made the tv.

When we bought our old 48" in 2000, it was covered for 10 years or something.
