It was always going to do well but I'm quite amazed that there are people out there who don't mind being ripped off.

    £200? o.O

Both Argos and GAME are selling them for £230, pre ordered. GameStation's doing it for £220.

Nice, I'm planning on pre-ordering mine from Argos but i'm a bit annoyed at the price since I can get a new 320gb PS3 on ebay for the same price.

I refuse to pay £70 (110 USD) more than citizens of the US.

very odd considering 3d has already been witnessed by ppl (including me) and i dont think its a very big deal... maybe its the games tht has caused this influx esp multitasking (cuz it looks fancy)

I'm a sucker for new tech so I'll end up being ripped off at launch for both this and the new psp.

Is it just me, or does it seem like the tech battles nowadays seem to be mostly gimmick vs power? (I use 'gimmick' neutrally here. Can't think of the right word on 3 hours of sleep.)

In many ways, they're damn clever. The 3DS was originally set at £230 and that's its RRP - but now places like Amazon and ASDA are selling it for £202 if you preorder, which is enough of an incentive to even get me thinking about picking one up even though there's only one game being released at launch that I even want.

most likely going to get it from Asda now (none if the other stores are doing a bundle, except this o.o) . But do you know if Shopto is reliable?

Think it's a pretty fair price to be honest. Yeah, you can wait 6 months, you can wait a year, you can wait two years, but then you'll have the system for only 3 years of its active lifespan.

Suits me fine - I picked up a new NDSL black a couple of years ago, and I'm still playing with it now, thanks to the R4/3-in-1 :-)

@BlueStar, ye you're right it's not that bad. Hopefully the new psp is cheap too.

@iMasaru, I bought a gamecube from Asda and after it packed up within a month they told me the only thing they can do is send it back to the manufacturer and that I would have to pay £25, so my advice is before bundles and cheap deals think about customer service, Amazon and Game are excellent in that respect, amazon have never let me down when exchanging a faulty product within the year. And game is the same but you have the option of extra years warranty. I've also used shopto before too and they're reliable but I have no idea about their terms and customer service.

I've never had a problem like that with Asda, they generally ask if everything is in the box and exchange it. Morrisons tend to be good on that too, but have a very limited range in games.

We've been shafted like this for years though.... in fact on many occasions we can pay over 60% more than those lot over the other side of the pond..... fact remains that the cost of living is higher here than in the US anyway - things being 50% or so more expensive here is generally considered the norm. (If you want a real shock compare the price of petrol here compared to the US - the UK's 'inflated' 3DS rrp doesn't seem that bad at all in comparison!)
