This has been known. Tubehax is dead. You need some other form of hax now.

except that's not the point. the tubehax DNS server is still up I think which is a good and easy way to block updates (also applies to the Wii U, where tubehax DNS is suggested as well).

There's no reason to not update from 10.1. You're past 9.2, just update to current.

    try this:
    • turn it off
    • hold L + R + Up + A and turn it on
    • if you get a "System Update" screen, press cancel and it will turn off
that might delete downloaded update files. note that the system checks every 24 hours. make sure that DNS settings are properly set up.

    10.2 patches menuhax and browserhax.

If it's happening again, maybe you could ask smealum on twitter.

If you're scared to update, you can set Parental Control if you want.

Did it. Hope it works. The DNS Settings are the following:
    Primary: 107.211.140.065
    Secondary: 107.211.140.165

parental controls doesn't block anyone from installing updates since 4.1 I think.

I did the Power Off thing, but I'm afraid of putting the system in Sleep Mode. What should I do?

nothing. updates don't install themselves. doing the recovery mode trick should delete the update files for a day.

But what if your only way of accessing the HBL is from homemenuhax?

Can confirm this is correct, at least on 9.2. Updating from System Settings will not ask for the PIN, but from the main menu prompt it will.
I originally set it to 0000 so I could use Game Chat on Pokemon, and it's saved me numerous times.

install themehax from it. therefore you dont need tubehax and you can get into homebrew right on the startup.

edit: oops, my fault. if you still have access to homebrew, use it. if you dont, you're better off buying cubic ninja or ocarina of time from ebay (pretty sure its been patched on newer carts.)
