i see... i've never used a torrent before...

I'm in the process of trying to hack my 2ds... I'll keep this thread bumped with my progress...

--------------------- MERGED ---------------------------

also, I'm a little confused, the guide seems to say I need to be connected to the internet while doing this step, but won't the 2DS force an automatic update? How can i prevent that?

When i did no auto update was force and nintendo can't do that xD
Also
"Never format a 2DS while on a version <6.0.0 or you will be unable to complete initial setup and will BRICK!"

where did I go wrong?

The FBI stuff won't load up...

It all seemed to be going smoothly,up until around Section III - Configuring Luma3DS of here: https://3ds.guide/installing-arm9loaderhax

  1. Boot your device while holding (Select) to enter the Luma3DS configuration menu
  2. Use the (A) button and the D-Pad to turn on the following:
    • “Autoboot SysNAND”
    • “Use SysNAND FIRM if booting with R”
    • “Show NAND or user string in System Settings”
  3. If you are using a New 3DS, you can also enable the following:
    • “New 3DS CPU” to “Clock+L2(x)”
    • This will increase the framerate of many games, but may cause instability in others
    • If some games do not work properly, disable this option and try again
    • This breaks the Homebrew Launcher on 11.3!
  4. Press (Start) to save and reboot
    • If you get a black screen, just continue to the next section
    • If you get a “Failed to mount CTRNAND” error, just continue to the next section

After finishing this section, I pressed start to have it save and reboot. It didn't reboot though. It just stayed in a grayish dark screen until I had to turn it off.

Earlier in the guide, it kind of scared me into creating a nand backup before I followed a part of the guide that stressed repeatedly the importance of nand backups.
