If you thought you might see the release of Beyond Good & Evil 2 anytime soon, then don't get your hopes up. Ubisoft's latest earnings call shows that we won't see the game completed until at minimum the next fiscal year. Five AAA games will be released by the company in the coming fiscal year, which kicks off in April, consisting of Gods & Monsters, Rainbox Six Quarantine, Watch Dogs: Legion and two unannounced titles. CEO Yves Guillemot stated that Beyond Good & Evil 2 won't be part of the lineup released this year, while the pirate game Skull & Bones has been confirmed for release in the fiscal year of 2021-2022.

In that same fiscal report, Ubisoft's performance this quarter was considerably underwhelming, due to the critical reception of Ghost Recon: Breakpoint and the massive delays Ubisoft initiated for their games, in order to release better quality titles. The company brought in $456.86 million dollars in the previous three-month quarter, which was down by 26% from last year. Guillemot is confident that despite the tough climate of 2020 AAA games releasing this year, Ubisoft's lineup in 2020 will stand out.

i think ubisoft should write a book on the development of the sequel history from 2008 to 2019-could sell quite a lot of copies to claim some cash back:lol:

    Meh, whatever.
The BG&E2 they showed had nothing to do with the original project

I don't even wait for Beyond Good & Evil 2 at this point, honestly. With bizarre development cycle and constantly shifting genres (it's going to be open world and with RPG elements now apparently?), there's just all sorts of red flags that tell, "This game is going to be an unfocused mess".

well the trailer they showed looked nothing like beyond good and evil IP in the first place.

fans wanted a sequel because of the cliffhangar ending
ubisoft-- lets make a prequel then...

what they showed looked like a sort of open world beatenupp instead of being an openworld dungeon explorer game like the original.

That game is great, it has anice interesting plot. Great exploration, combat and collecting. The HD version is under 10$ on steam and PSN. It has a nice pace and you won´t invest like 80 hours in it.
Only downside is that it ends abrubtly and UBI soft doens´t finish it for some reason. But still I recomend it.
It would be like Square-Enix only putting out Final Fantasy VII part 1. It´s a nice game tough.

    Beyond Assassin's Cell Dogs

Incase no one has realised. Ubi recycle EVERYTHING, no matter what.

They have IP, but that is all they are. They so long be be the "COD" dev that prints money, they will never achieve what I once foresaw as there potential.

They are there own worst enemy.

Dude they're a triple A dev, you honestly think they're going to improve over time?
Whenever a dev gets declared triple A, they start getting worse and worse, implementing more and more microtransactions and lootboxes into their games, until it turns into an unfocused money mess with microtransactions that cost as much as the actual game, in which you only get to experience 10% of the game since the other 90% is pay to get this weapon, or this map, etc.

    Ubisoft's Shenmue.
Great underperfomant game that many want but then won't.
Kill the game already. Stop trying to make the lightning hit twice in the same spot and get a Rayman game. Far safer investment.
