and you've tried all the different cluster sizes? Try putting a game on root and a game in the subfolders. Try everything you can think of. try a different HDD.

It's possible it's not getting enough power, is it connected to one port or two on the dock?

Not sure if Switch supports GPT partitions or only MBR.

Make sure there's only one partition and check to make sure its MBR.

You can use a tool called "Rufus" to format into MBR.

For those using an external drive, how do updates work? All .XCI game updates are .NSP format but as far as I know you can't install .NSP files to hard drive. Yet. How do they work in this case?

The karma and payback was already taken care of by removing their posts. The wounds don't need salt rubbed in them, and it wasn't the case where posts for SXOS were removed and the "haters" further ridiculed those posters. Set the example, be the better person, don't stoop down to the same level and make yourself look dumb.

This is fantastic. Now we need the preachy AF RetroArch devs to get off their high horse and add support for this; I got a pair of 512GB USB C Thumb Drives for free recently and having one of them assigned as a retro ROM repository is going to be neat.

Gotta love how people were quick to poo all over this team, even though I've been well versed in their goal of making high quality stuff even as far back as the Original Xbox. Their TSOP firmware is amazing to work with, too.

Now that they've been delivering such updates to their products, people are singing their praises... many of which were the same people quick to turd on them for actually charging for it. I find that coincidence, amusing. :hrth:

A few questions to maybe help:

    - Does your USB drive keep power?
    - Does your USB drive keep flashing or does it go off?
    - Are you using docked mode? (I assume you are)

Something with the WD drives, my 2TB WD portable doesn't work but my 2TB portable Seagate does.

I'm going to stick with wall powered drives for now. I have a feeling the tiny power brick for the Switch just isn't supplying enough to get the portables working.
