Just out of curiosity, how long does it take to scan your entire library in the sx os menu?

Good to know, my HDD keeps taking longer and longer the more games I add. It's taking over 5mins now with ~500 xci files. I'm using a powered 4tb Seagate expansion drive. I takes the same amount of time on two different switches so I guess it's the HDD that's my bottleneck. I'm glad to know that it could be faster scan times with different hardware.

there are only 409 xci file real ones. :) you shouldnt mix fake ones with real ones :) that is why you should use Dz too, put them nsp files in root / games/ and dz's will see them :)
i have over 1,000 plus nsp in games

Does an 8TB HDD work with this firmware?

I'm aware of what's real and what's fake. Ive been converting my nsp files over to xci to save system/SD space. Am I wrong in assuming that dz can only install nsps and not run them?

Thought so, just making sure I didn't miss something. My ideal setup is having ALL titles converted to xci on my HDD docked. Transfer any games (xci) that I want to play undocked to my SD card. Mainly just to avoid having to (un)install.

Yeah . I hear you. I was going to convert all 1,000 nsp files in a batch . But I think we will get something big soon for nsp :) I'm hoping

Dude in the other thread you are complaining about it having trouble with your 16GB flash drive from the Windows XP era.

Buy something current and throw away the old garbage.

Even USB support for the Wii for old flash drives was hit or miss because the old flash drives didn't fully support the USB protocol.

You clearly don't understand what beta means.

If you want stable get the other version until other people shake out support.

my usb flash drive win xp? well that's a news what's the relationship between an operating system like win xp and a usb flash drive? can you develop your point of view?
I repair dozens of windows 10 PCs with my key

and he? on the xecuter site he has a win xp compatible hdd?
As I say, this key is my test.
I have 2 128GB sd cards (sandisk class10 uhs1) and one 64GB sandisk also class10 for homebrews, so I'm not a pirate who absolutely wants to store 1500 games on a 1 petabyte hdd, just that I notice that to find a compatible hdd, is a lottery
    thank you
my verbatim key win xp works perfectly on wii and ps2

You mentioned you are having problems with a 16GB USB flash drive. I looked it up and it was first manufactured when Windows XP was popular.

Microsoft has thousands if not 10's of thousands of QA people to test it's products and TX has a handful and us beta testers.

If you want to help go look up the engineering specs of your model flash drive, find out what subset of USB storage commands it supports and submit it to TX.

    No, thanks. I'll be fine.
do you think I need this USB flash drive to store a single switch game? it was just a test to test the sxos 2.2.1 update, it doesn't work? not a big problem, but imagine_you buy a 200 dollars hdd and it doesn't work... it would be a little more problematic no?
Well, it can happen to anyone, since we're beta testing.
    see you soon
    B-)

Like I thought, not willing to help - just complain.

You aren't beta testing, you are whining.

You have a serious problem, don't you?
I complain about what? Garyopa answered my question a page before you, you're the one who's relaunching a topic that's closed for me, is that clear to you?

Hace you checked partions In the pendrive? Some Of them have an extra partition for security for other tools.

I am still having no luck. Here is my post from the other thread. I thought I would post this here.

Could you please give more information about your system and your HDD? I would like to compile a list of what works. For the Switch what Sys version? SXOS version? Maybe if it was a launch switch (IDK if that matters) Also your update history and methods? I read sometimes cartridge updates are missing things.. For the HDD, could you please list their Make and Model? Allocation table size? What program you used to format it? Mac,Win, Linux? If they are self powered or through AC? Y cable? USB 2 or 3? ANY OTHER DETAILS THAT MIGHT MATTER. I so want to figure this out. Then maybe we can see a pattern or if it's just the ghost i the machine.'

These seem to be variables that affect the outcome.

I see a lot of posts on IT WORKED or IT DIDN'T WORK!! but rarely do they mention all of these details. I would hate to assume any of these things. Devil is in the details. Anyone else contributing to this thread please list these things. Maybe ill make a spreadsheet if I have time. Let's figure it out.

    My stuff

Switch: Launch switch updated from 1.0 to System version 3.0 through the System Options, so I could use PegaSwitch. Used PegaSwitch like 3 times. Then updated to 3.0.1,by accident legit through Super Mario Odyssey cart (DOH!!!) with fuses currently at 3.0.1, SX OS 2.2.1 BETA. No EmuNAND

HDD 1: WD Elemental 2TB GPT ExFAT formatted in Windows Disk Management. (Default allocation size ?) USB 3.0 powered through USB. Stock cable - WONT STOP SCANNING/FLASHING FILENAME
HDD 2: My Book 1TB Formatted with GUI formatter FAT32 (ModMii originally for my Wii) (Default Forget the Cluster size) AC ADAPTER power .USB 2.0 -WONT STOP SCANNING/FLASHING FILENAME
HDD 3: WD Passport 300GB FAT32 Formatter in Win through GUI formatter (from ModMii) (Default cluster) USB Powered Monster cable USB 2.0 - WONT STOP SCANNING/FLASHING FILENAME
Flash Drives: 2x Kingston 4GB (came in 2-pack) One FAT32 one Ex-fat formatted in Windows Disk Management Default Allocation size, DON'T REGISTER AT ALL. SXOS DOESN'T"T SEE IT

I have tried several different games. Personal dumps. BBB dumps. They all work from SD. All the HDD?Flash drives work in everything else. I am sorry to leave missing info. Mainly allocation sizes. I will update soon, when I can, with the correct sizes. USB ports seem fine. I tested them with Amperage on my Android and they charge the Pro controller fine as well.

I hope everyone else follows suit and posts these details about their drives and systems. Maybe we can nail this down and find a winning combination.

    Things you can try:
    Mbr vs gpt
If you are currently in one partioning scheme try the other. I believe Diskpart can do it in windows. Command line, but has lots of options.

    Power issues:
If the switch and dock are not powering the device. You may need to power it externally using a powered USB hub. Some hdds on the Wii had to do similar using a y cable.

Both betas for us support seem a little glitchy. Wait and see if they release a less buggy version in the future.

I have a WD My Passport Ultra 3TB here and it works fine. Exfat too.

Hooked it up through the dock and no issues.
