I'm running Waninkoko's 4.0. My two questions are...

- Is there a way to install games directly to the SD card instead of to the internal memory first? Even if it's a PC app or something.
- I was told before that it was best to uninstall the WADs using the WAD manager, not to just remove them through the Wii's built-in delete feature. It doesn't seem possible once you move the channel to the SD card (as the channel is no longer installed on your Wii). Is there a way to completely remove it after you've taken it off your Wii's internal memory and stuck it on your SD card?

Yes you could actually do this in theory, it would be VERY complex and I ain't gonna explain more on the extracting and signing, as recently I read a lot about it, and I mean a LOT for a different thing. The games (VC or WiiWare) would not play on any Wii though because the Wii needs certain files in place (tik etc) so it's pointless just now.
The games need signed using the Wii, and you could get the files needed from the Wii but as I said it's pointless for now.

If you only ever remove them with the built in feature you leave "crap" behind. There are a few threads here where people then can't get certain things to work if too muc "crap" is left behind.

Uninstalling once moved to SD will remove this "crap" but then the games can't be played on the Wii.

Yes, use Wad Manager or ATD to remove the traces, but as I say you can't put it back on the Wii so it's playable.

Well, that answers most of my questions, but raises one more. Is there a way to scan your Wii for games that have traces left behind?

Edit: AnyTitleDeleter seems to do it, but it's nearly impossible for me to read on my SDTV... I can't make out the letters at all. Any way to dump the list to a text file or something? Or is there a similar thing that makes it easier to read?

Yes you can get "title lister", I don't have a link sorry and the one on WiiBrew is not as good as.....the one that outputs to titles.txt on SD card ,you can then take that to the PC to view.
It wil give you a list of all the IOS, and the games identified by there 4 digit ID: RXXP etc

Someone want to post a link for the guy to the title lister that outputs titles.txt to SD ?

I would find a link but am on my way out the house as I type, hopefully this bump will bring you a speedy reply from a kind member.

Nice, I found the Title Lister that exports to a txt file just by googling for it. Seems to work well, and it at least makes it easier to interpret whatever is listed on the AnyTitleDeleter screen. I take it stuff like the Forecast and News channel shouldn't be removed? And I should just assume all my IOSes are fine?

the vram is one advantage when it comes to AI but ends up being slower even with that and really AI is the only use case that needs more than 12gb vram right now

    Interesting lol

I think I watched a video where two games at 4K where eating just over 16GB of RAM and it's the one case where the 7900XT and XTX pulled ahead (minus RTX of course)

So my opinion is that they could age a bit better in the future, and maybe AMD will continue improving them via drivers like they tend to do. No guarantee there but they have done it in the past. Just a feeling I have.

cyberpunk at 4k without DLSS/fidelityfx *might* exceed 12gb
    +1
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
but that game barely runs at native 4k
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
I think it was some newer games and probably poorly optimized PS4 or PS5 ports
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
they definitely will age better but i feel dlss might outweigh that since it looks about as good as native resolution and much less demanding
    +1

When I played Cyberpunk on my old 2080 Ti it sucked lol
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
AMD could introduce something comparable to DLSS but nvidia's got a lot more experience with that
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
least amd 7xxx has tensor cores which the previous generations didn't so there is the potential for AI upscaling
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
They have FSR or whatever it's called and yeah it's still not great
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
so AMD seem to finally be starting to take AI seriously
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
Oh yeah those new 8000 CPUs have AI cores built in that's interesting
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
Maybe they plan on offloading to the CPU?
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
Would be kinda cool to have the CPU and GPU working in random more
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
    Tandem even
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
i think i heard of that, it's a good idea, shouldn't need a dedicated GPU just to run a LLM or video upscaling
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
even the nvidia shield tv has AI video upscaling
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
LLMs can be run on cpu anyway but it's quite slow

Have you ever been beaten by a wet spaghetti noodle by your girlfriend because she has a twin sister, and you got confused and fucked her dad?

I had a girlfriend who had a twin sister and they would mess with me constantly.... Until one chipped a tooth then finally I could tell them apart.... Lol

They would have the same hair style the same clothes everything... Really messed with my head lol
