Hardware TV output only shows 480p and does not output in docked mode?

So I bought a faulty switch which I thought I fixed , it all worked fine until I try to Dock it but it does not show anything on screen.
When I checked the TV output settings it had all the options 1080p/720p etc but
It had the previous person's details on so it needed to be reset so did a factory restore going that might help, after that though when I went into the TV output settings it just shows 480p?? And still does not show on the TV?
The Dock /tv/hdmi all work as tested with my switch so it's 100% the console.
I have a new USB c port so could swap it out but don't want to waste my time if that's not likely to be the issue?
Also it charges fine?
Any idea please?

while waiting for external input thought i would try taking my dock apart to be able to try the usb c connector in both ways.
unfortunately it did not work so i am swaying more away from it being a faulty usb c connector to something internal.
think i will need to open it up again and continuity check some chips etc.
