I am trying to install the wii backup launcher channel from here: http://wiihacked.com/wii-backup-laucher-wii-iso
When I get to this step: "Select CIOS Rev5 – press + to install and A to accept" the installation fails.
I have previously followed a series of tutorials found here: http://gwht.wikidot.com/usb-loader
one of which had me install Waninkoko's IOS249.

I am a total noob at wii hacking. Could someone help me figure out what's wrong? (and how to fix it?)

[edit] problem solved! I am now using the NeoGamma channel!

    Thanks!
    The NeoGamma channel works!

I do have another question though... I tried loading my backup copy of ssbb and I got an error: "DVD Read Error (559)". I burned ssbb onto a DVD+R DL, is the Wii only able to read -R? Thanks.

Since SSBB itself is burned on a dual layer disc...

Wait, skip that. I read over the difference between DVD+ and DVD-. Well...this is a bit hard to say. In theory, the wii can handle both. In practice, different people have different results using discs. Some can use any brand or type of DVD while others can barely get anything to work (the more recent wii's can't play any backup discs, for that matter).
Your error sounds like a common burning error. Do other backups work fine?
    A few tips:
-use imgBurn as your burning program
-use verbatim for media (many claim that other brands work as well, but verbatim is clearly the best choice)
    -use a low burning speed

As for DVD+ or -...I don't know. According to this quick googled source, DVD- is preferred. But I can't say anything about the reliability of that site.

My other backups work fine, but they were burned onto regular DVD-R's, not the DVD+R Dual-Layer. SSBB is too big to be burned onto a single-layer disc, but I don't currently have any Dual-layer DVD-R's. I guess I'll try picking some up this Saturday when I head into town...

I did use Neogamma. I am now trying to troubleshoot the disc read error I'm getting.
