Many years ago, I modded my Wii. When I did the mod the Wii was on version 3.4U. As best as I can recall, I used hack mii to install boot mii, and then installed the home brew channel. I used USB loader GX to load my games. As time went on, fewer and fewer of the new games would work on my system and, eventually, I lost interest. Fast forward to last week- I pull out the old Wii and hook it up determined to fix the problem. The Wii is still V3.4u, home brew is 1.10 ios37 v14.25. I don't know how to get to the boot mii screen to check the version. I can't get there from the home brew channel. I used my computer to update the usb loader gx app and installed D2x cios. Then I followed instructions in a tutorial to install cios 249 and 250. Unfortunately, none of my attempts have fixed my problems. I cant play Tetris or Mario Galaxy along with many other games. When I attempt to launch them, it goes to a black screen then back to home brew. I have tried many "fixes" from youtube but none of them have worked for me. I'm not sure what to do next. I am starting to wonder if I need to try to un-mod the wii, update and start over. Any ideas, suggestions or help would be greatly appreciated.
EDIT: Zelda Skyward Sword works on my wii. This information may be useless but I know that a lot of wiis have issues with this game.
EDIT2: just learned about moddmii. I am going through the process now

After maliciously completing all of the moddmii instructions I now have a updated system version, homebrew channel and some updated cios. I used the configurable usb loader to attempt to launch tetris. I have attached the error message I recieved. Im all out of ideas, any help would be greatly appreciated.

Your system is good now. don't edit anything else.
except BC v5 instead of v6, strange that modmii didn't update it, maybe because of your "maliciously" use of it. but keep it like that, you don't need BC is you don't play gamecube from discs channel.

the error looks clear to me : Not a Wii game !

are you sure Tetris is a Wii game ? what's its format ? what size?
edit: just answered myself. titleID is STEETR, 70MB game on your screenshot.
how did you install the game to your drive ? manually with file explorer on your computer, or using Wii Backup Manager?
if you do it manually, there is a layout to follow, proper folder name, proper filename, proper location on the drive, proper partition format.

There's always the possibility that your game is bad, or corrupted. try again with another dump.

did you try other games (mario galaxy)
did you try another USBLoader ? (USBLoaderGX or wiiflow)

All of my games were installed from an original disk using the install tool in USBLoaderGX. Both Tetris and Mario Galaxy worked at the time of installation. I think they stopped working when I was installing new CIOS to get black ops to work.

I am pretty confident that the drive is formatted as WBFS. All of the games have strange names (STEETR) that were assigned automatically via the USBLoaderGX software. After I download the cover art, ect the displayed name on the wii is corrected however I do not think it changes the actual file name because I still see strange file names in the wii backup manager tool on my pc. If their is a suggested way to name files I would be happy to switch.

I have tried all three usb loader tools with both games and they all fail. Black ops has never worked on this wii but it is now fixed and works great.

I cant find my disk (recently moved) but I was able to find a library with the WBFS files so I can try replacing the Mario Galaxy file to see if it was corrupted. However Tetris one of the family's favorite games is not in the library.

If you have any info on a better partition format than WBFS I would be happy to switch. I know there was an option to switch in ModdMii but I currently have WBFS so I selected that. Would I have to go through the process of ModMii again if I switched?

EDIT: In your signature I see a link wbfs2fat, should I do that? I would prefer NTFS but I will do what ever you think is best.

yes, you can use the tool to convert your WBFS partition to FAT32, but if you have very few games (and your game discs), it might be better to just format the drive and re-dump your games.
you can use the tool, but if some games are corrupted, the tool could have issues. there's a way to check if all your games are good by using Wii Backup Manager, or Wit.

"STEETR" is not the game's chosen name, it's the TitleID.
every titles (games, channels, etc.) have an identification with 4 letters (STEE) and additionnaly for USBLoaders 2 letters representing the publisher (TR)

If you use Wiitdb.xml, you get proper game's names based on their TitleID.
settings>update>wiitdb
settings>features>wiitdb enabled

Black ops need a cIOS based on IOS57, so your slot250 is used for that game (either automatically, maybe the loader detects your installed IOS) or manually (in USBLoaderGX you need to set the slot to use yourself)
