Hey guys I been trying to mod my Wii u for quite some time. I want Pikmin 2 for my Wii U really badly. I don't have any money so this would help me enjoy one of my childhood games again ^_^! Anyways I have a USB drive that has 16gb on it and aN SD drive (SAN DISK, SDHC CARD) with 8GB on it. Is this all I need and I been googling for hours and all these tutorials are really confusing. I just signed up on this website and I already really enjoy it, but just trying to find people WILLING to help me out and maybe add me on skype or discord to direct me. THANK YOU GUYS SO MUCH YOUR AWESOME. <3

FYI Pikmin 2 was officially re-released as a Wii port. (or was it the original Pikmin?)

From what i hear, you want to modify the vWii mode of your Wii U, right? You have two options to follow in regards to this.
    * You can use a game exploit, which will require a 2GB or less SD Card (your 8GB card might still work, but no guarantees and a compatible game, which can be found on wiibrew.org/wiki/Homebrew_setup)
    * Or you can set up the Wii U hacking environment, which involves setting up your SD Card with the Homebrew Launcher and CFW Booter (at minumum), and then using @FIX94's method of patching the HackMii installer into the Mii Channel to install the Homebrew Channel.

All the information you need can be found in the sticky threads (at the top of the page) in the Wii U Hacking forum (you are currently in the Homebrew forum). If you still need more help after this, feel free to ask questions. There is the odd person here who is willing to help out. :)

Your Wii and GameCube games can indeed be stored on a USB drive and played using a backup launcher (USB Loader GX, Wiiflow, Nintendon't probably others). Just remember that Wii hacks are run in vWii mode, not Wii U mode, if you understand that.

If you follow the second option, you will also have a Homebrew setup on the Wii U you can use to play Wii U backups (not from HDD, unfortunately) and homebrew games. I suggest the Homebrew App Store if you decide to follow hacking the Wii U side of things. ;) Just take note that no hacks on the Wii U side are permanent yet.

For the Wii. You could get yourself a copy of Pikmin and Pikmin 2 remastered for the Wii, capable of Wii Remote and Nunchuck controls instead of having to use the GameCube controller (which is a little more difficult to perform in the Wii U's vWii mode)

Not sure. It couldn't hurt to look.
