removed setup and reran.

this time after the set up rebooted I ejected the card becaus last time it tried to run it again. Now I get teh wiiu logo and its stuck there. With a purple LED, so I powered it off and backl on.

ran all the wiiu setup stuff.
after I get to ther user created an I skip it, I get the 0103 back. What do you mean dram, wiiu has eDRAM but EDRAM its part of a processor. IS there a fix do that also?

The only part that is still confusing is

'Follow through with the initial setup. After the "settings" part of the setup, it will drop you back into minute, just select Patch (sd) and Boot redNAND again.'

based on your advice this shoudl read. "reboot". After I run the redNAND the first time, its a static blue led, so the only thing I can do is power off the unit. This text does not say that. Is there really nothing I need to do at that point except reboot?

I tried again, this time I didnt tell it to skip the linking of accounts, and asked it to link, but then told it not to link. For what ever reason that worked. I was able to finsh the wiiu setup. Once the main wiiu was loaded I tried to turn it off and back on now I'm stuck on the wqiiu load screen. the SD card is out, do I need to undo something else?

You could dump the system crash logs in minute, maybe they tell us something.
Also with DRAM I mean the 4 physical DRAM chips around the SoC. Not the SRAM/eDRAM.
If it was one of those we could find out which one and replacing is also possible, but the diagnosis isn't that easy and replacing requires some fine bga rework.
So I would rather check everything else first.

saw two options for system crash, took the first. So boothibng and a stuck wiiu screen is not expected?

guessing those are just older logs, relevent part is

00;00;56;267: CSC: CODE: [HAA3-0110-1375]
00;00;56;267: ERPRC: Console status code: HAA3-0110-1375
00:00:56:392: MCP: life time number of fatal errors - 52

?

1.log shows clearly a bad eMMC. After that it mostly just reports data corruption, which is not as clear, but would fit.

Later we get these strange unknown errors:
00:00:09:208: mdblk: err=-131078, unknown instance.
00:00:09:208: FSA: ### MEDIA ERROR ###, dev:mlc01, err:-2228230, cmd:25, path:/usr/save/system/no_delete/00050000
00:00:09:209: [ACP]ERROR:CheckExistence:898: failed to check existence of /vol/storage_mlc01/usr/save/system/no_delete/00050000/ (status = -196673)
00:00:09:210: FSA: ### UNKNOWN ERROR ###, dev:mlc01, err:-2228739, cmd:4, path:/usr/save/system/no_delete/00050000
00:00:09:210: [ACP]ERROR:ConvertFSAStatusToNnResult:287: Fatal FSA Error at mlc (-2228739)
00:00:09:210: [ACP]ERROR:CreateDir:759: failed to create "/vol/storage_mlc01/usr/save/system/no_delete/00050000/" (status: -2228739)

They don't tell the reason and I didn't see them before, but they seem to come from the driver for the eMMC. So it would also fit, it just looks a little strange.

Did you make sure to actually boot the redNAND every time, by using the second option in minute and not accidentally booting the sysnand?

Well the instructions at least for me are very unclear, as to why I ask so many questions. But with your help so far only step 7 I'm nott sure about.

Therefore I have to be more precies so that I do not get even more confused. My assumption is that you are asking about Select Patch (sd) and Boot ios redNAND. And yes that is the second option in the menues.

after I run that, I see the output posted on my post 8 (https://gbatemp.net/threads/trying-...ing-sense-error-160-0103.660497/post-10491273)

after that
  1. Remove the wafel_setup_mlc.ipx -- so all I did was took out the sd and rrenamed the file)

  2. Select Patch (sd) and Boot ios redNAND again. If everything worked, the initial setup should launch.
(no longer required with latest minute) --Skipped completely as instructed.

  3. Follow through with the initial setup. After the "settings" part of the setup, it will drop you back into minute, just select Patch (sd) and Boot redNAND again. -- As you said, I ignored all of this and just did a reboot. amd ran the second optino again.

Once I run it again, It spits out a bunch of text and then reboot the unit in to the wiiu screen. At this point I kept getting that error 160-0103, and just fouind out I can botch the user setup stepts to make it not spit out this error message. or I just got lucky that time, I honestly have no idea. I got my wiiu finaly back up and running and it plays games. So I turned it off, and now I can now boot.

It sounds like yout telling my I didnt fix anything? Any suggested steps?

FYI: I think the crashing is random and I also got a Error Code: 150-3032., sometimes I make it thru the wiiu setup otherties I do not. And if I rename the wafel_setup_mlc back it does not work the same way now. It blinks the LED but also boot in to the wiiu OS. I'm starting to thing the chips are in fact bad. I really have no way to know. Happy to keep trying things but if you think its a lost cause let me know.

chips, if you could point to the chips for me, I coudl try to replacde them. I have a surface soldering kit and I know I can remove them. REplacing maybe not so much but I can try it. Putting the chip in place and heating it up so hot seems like a bad idea but that is how others did it.
