When I do this I can't even enter settings on them without an instant crash. I found workarounds for Yuzu and Citra doing this but PCSX 2 I tried deleting the original folder in Documents and starting over tried installing a fresh PCSX 2 latest version none of it matters it won't even let me enter settings much less play a game. I also tried going in Nvidia Control Panel and settings pcsx2 to Nvidia but didn't help, and yes I have Nvidia set as global graphics in the Nvidia Control Panel.

Is it better to just keep Intel enabled but it was causing other issues that's why I did it.

I might just have to keep it enabled because even emulators I thought I fixed last night by reinstalling deleting config folders etc... are crashing again as soon as it's disabled, as soon as it's enabled they work fine.

One of the reasons I did it is my PC always starts at 1024x768 in a small window and I want it to start full screen. No matter what changes I make while the PC is on when I reboot it starts the same way I have my laptop hooked up to my TV and I use extended desktop but it always starts only on the PC monitor in 1024x768. I tried deleting registry keys changing settings in Local Group Policy and a few other things and nothing can fix it it's been this way for over a year.

Have you set it to PCI express (or whatever Nvidia GPU using), and not integrated, in your bios? Another option with extended display, is maybe set the other monitor as the "Main" screen in windows display options.

I'm going to try the bios but I don't think my bios even shows anything about that but I'll double check. I did try making the TV as the main screen it didn't change anything. It just never remembers any resolution settings at all on a restart sign-on or from powered off to computer on.

Edit: just checked and there's absolutely nothing about the GPU at all or anything I can change. It only mentions Intel VTX and VTD which are Virtualization. Maybe I need to update my bios.

But everything is kind of okay I use autohotkey and run a script that changes it to fullscreen on boot and even extends the desktop like I want it, it just takes a few minutes from the boot for the script to run. I would prefer it just boot instantly in fullscreen but I don't know how to make that happen. The computer just refuses to remember any settings at all when it comes to resolution and always resorts to 1024x768 despite that not being the preferred resolution of my computer monitor or TV. I'm not even sure if I was able to change primary graphics driver to Nvidia in bios that would change I believe that's a different setting anyway. Emulators are working ok though with Intel active but Nvidia set as primary.

Are you using a laptop or a desktop? You will usually find the option to disable the iGpu under integrated peripherals normally found in advanced settings menu. If using a laptop though check make sure your discrete card has direct access to the display or you may end up with a blank screen after rebooting and need to reset the bios to get it back. If using an external monitor the blank screen will only last until windows starts.

Yeah it's a laptop, probably not worth it.

Do you know of any fix of why my resolution is always 1024x768 on boot? I've tried regedits and obviously changing the settings in display and that was why I tried uninstallling Intel, nothing fixes it.

Sounds like it could be stuck in base video mode. You can check msconfig and see if it's in a selective startup with base video checked under the boot tab. Open the run dialog box with the windows key and the letter R. Type in msconfig and press ok. On the general tab if selective start up is checked, click on the boot tab and make sure there is no check in base video and if there is a check there, remove it. Hit apply and ok to reboot. If that checks out you can try the following which I found,

Right-Click Desktop
Display Settings
Advanced Display Settings
Display Adapter Properties
Click "List All Modes"
Scroll through the resolutions until you find the one you want and double-click it. Than hit OK and Apply

Even if it is in a selective startup with no check in base video try just putting it in a normal start up and see if that fixes it.

Wow very first thing you try was what it was. I've had this problem for a year and you fixed it on the first try, nice job. Thank you.

Awesome. Glad that fixed it up for you. Happy to help.

I got one more minor thing bugging me but I'm not sure if you would be able to fix this one or not, I want numberkeys by disabling numlock to work at launch and I've googled what regkeys to modify I've always tried running autohotkey scripts that I've googled. It used to work but for some reason now no matter what I do it doesn't.

For this you can look into the BIOS as well normally under the boot menu. Look for Bootup Numlock State or something similar and you can usually change this from on/enabled to off/disabled or vice versa. I do find though that with windows 10 and above setting this is hit or miss and may not always work as intended.

The hardware is not much different, in my opinion. It can emulate just about anything without needing a CPU upgrade, aside from a re-design.

Retro handhelds aren't really hiding the fact they're just phones with a D-pad. It's all the same SOC, just with different applications.

Exactly. That's what I'm at least trying to point out.

But the high-end SOCs are still expensive so they tend to use older stuff, leftover stock and so on.

So KTR is asking, will you guys spring for the Snapdragon,
or should we get some older cheaper chipset.

They probably thought to themselves that the latter would be the better option. Not only to make them easily affordable to produce and buy, but to retain the same performance to competitors.

After all, SoC is the same ones used in Android phones that were made for gaming.
