    Ok, I'm trying to access the Japanese Wii Shop Channel. I used this method but everytime I do it, I get an error with a login. Is this due to me needing to update to the 3.3v2? If so, anyway I can bypass it? I'm trying to get the Japanese Nintendo Channel btw..

    Probably, assuming you didn't install these

    It seems if you are trying to access the channel through your Wii that is not in the correct region firmware (say Japan on a Europe Wii), it will just come up with a error code.

    There maybe a way round it but the updates Nintendo have made to the channel are preventing this.

    I changed my Region to Japan. I just now realized when I tried to install the Wii Shop update using the IOS installer, I get an error of sorts..I'm going to change back to US, install the updates, then change back and see what happens.

    Edit:

    Yeah, reverted back to US Wii. Funny thing: I can access the Wii Shop channel just fine. and I'm on 3.2. I think I need a Japanese version of the update..oh well..

    1 - Using Any Region Changer, set your Wii's Country it was previously set to (Wii Shop Channel should mention which one).

    2 - Restart your Wii and agree to 'WiiConnect' under the Wii's settings.

    3 - Go to the Wii Shop Channel. You'll receive the same error but don't worry. Just click okay and it should still load the Wii Shop Channel.

    4 - Format the Wii Shop Channel (Wii's Serial Number is required).

    Note: You can try using Wii Backup Disc 1.3 to obtain the Serial code if needed. Use 'SoftMod' to boot the disc (works on chipped and non chipped Wiis).

    5 - Using Any Region Changer, set a country:

    1 = Japan Shop Channel
    16 = US (Country is Brazil) Shop Channel. Allows EU/AU countries to pay with their credit cards.
    49 = US Shop Channel.
    110 = United Kingdom Shop Channel.

    6 - Restart your Wii and agree to 'WiiConnect' under the Wii's settings.

    7 - Load the Wii Shop Channel. It will set up the necessary settings and load perfectly without any errors.

    Thanks for the reply. I've heard of this method before, but is it also true that all records of previously brought VC/WiiWare games will be removed from your account so you can't do updates and redownload the games again? If that is true, then will I still be able to freely transfer the previous games (ones i actually brought from the Wii Shop) to and from an SD card to the Wii and vise-versa?

    Also any remainig points that i have on my current account will they disapear when I change the region of the Wii shop using this method?

    Thanks again for your help, its just that I really want to get Volfied (which is out on the jp wii store) but seems that no one has ripped/released it for download [IMG]

    Formatting your Wii Shop Channel will delete all the titles you downloaded.

    I advise you to back up your channels as WADs using 'FS Dumper' and 'trents WAD Packer' to create the WADs and keep them as your backup.

    You can try using Wii Backup Disc 1.3 which supposedly can be used to back up the titles you downloaded and restore them but I've not tested this myself.

    Nice one mate, thanks for the info [IMG]

    After some searching through google I've found the files you've mentioned, and will give it a try. also got a copy of Backup Disc 1.3, so hopefully i'll get one of the methods working.

    Much thanks for the help and info you've provided mate.
