Not like the issue has ever been contentious on a medical level, anyway. That's why they have to try to turn it into a religious issue, but A. we're supposed to have separation of church and state, and B. the new testament doesn't mention abortion at all, while the old testament has a how-to guide on performing abortions. The whole thing boils down to men wanting to have control over women's bodies (and lives).

If god exists why does every religion (with god(s)) have a different version of god? Have you ever sat down and thought about why the silly books and people with silly hats tell you what god wants/does/thinks? Instilling the fear of an omnipotent entity that can smite you for anything is a great way to control people. It would be so interesting to see the strategy of the candidates if every vote counted equally. They'd be spread out all over to the largest cities across the country. You'd actually see more strategy than just focusing on a tiny electorate.
