To no one's surprise:
Donald Trump Says Tom Homan, Project 2025 Author, 'Coming on Board' If Elected

Imagine spending all these months denying to people that he doesn't know about Project 2025 (he sure fucking did from the start, let's be real here), only to pretty much embracing it 4 weeks before the election.
Steven Cheung (Trump's spokesman) is... Perhaps not lying, but at least bending the truth:

In order to ensure smooth power transition, preparations from both parties to handle the current administrations are currently ongoing. Our rather: should be. In early 2017, nothing illustrated Trump not expecting to win like not having prepared for the win by having ignored all preparation (see also the book the fifth risk by Lewis).
It's the same time this time around. Trump is already missing deadlines, and administrations don't exactly expect Trump to use the prepared notes like they made back then.

So... It's not 'premature' to know whether Homan would be part of the next trump administration but normal procedure. He's acting as if being unprepared is a virtue rather than a flaw.
Of course it could be he's lying or doesn't know, but that makes it at best equally bad.

Guess another registered Republican wanted to take their shot
Speaking of rallies....

This is just getting sad because this wasn't even the first time folks got stranded after a Trump rally. As much as they want to point the finger at the Coachella mayor, where was the concern by the hosts of the event to get these people back safely? Personally, they left them in the dark because their usefulness came at an end for the day. I really hope these people reconsider their political choices when their own candidate can't be bothered to ensure their safety.

Sadly, these sorts of folks won't change their minds. That original tweet from the picture was deleted because they were a Trump supporter getting hounded by other Trump supporters for making the whole rally look bad.

Speaking of that rally, the Trump campaign brags that they had over 100,000 attendees there when in actuality (and easily evident from plenty of videos and pics shared about it) that it was nowhere near 100,000 let alone the venue's max occupancy of 15,000, confirmed by the Office of the Riverside County Fire Marshal with the permit the campaign got.

You can compare what actually has 100k people in one place and clearly less than 15k people in the rally.

Maybe their reasoning for saying 100k attendees is that most were there "in spirit" by praying or whatnot.

Or maybe Trump is just the worst number guesser in history.
DOCTOR: "How many fingers am I holding up?"
TRUMP: "Uhhhhhhh.... 150!
DOCTOR: "uh, no. This is two, and I only have ten total to show"

In one third of the states in the United States, it is either completely or almost impossible to obtain an abortion . Despite that, more and more Americans believe that it should be legal to get an abortion if you don't want to be pregnant.
Read also : DR visited an abortion clinic in Florida, where the outcome of the election could be fateful
And therefore abortion is one of the most important topics in the American election campaign, says DR's correspondent in the US Philip Khokhar.
- One should not underestimate that this is an important topic for a great many Americans. It is remarkable that Americans are not so divided when it comes to abortion in particular.

More people are in favor of free abortion

About six in ten Americans think their state should generally allow a person to get a legal abortion if they don't want to be pregnant for any reason. This is shown by an opinion poll from July this year.
This is an increase from June 2021, a year before the Supreme Court overturned the ruling Roe v. Wade , which since 1973 had guaranteed American women the right to abortion up to the 24th week. Today, it is instead up to the states themselves to decide how their abortion legislation should be designed.
Also read : Heather had to travel to another state and have an abortion: 'I couldn't put myself through the process of carrying a child that has no life'
At the time, about half of Americans believed that abortion should be legal.
The increase is due, among other things, to the fact that the Supreme Court's decision has left many Americans behind, says Philip Khokhar:
- Many of the moderate voters in particular have been shocked that they have gone so far.
- And then there are many stories out there about women who have to travel to other states to get abortions, even if their fetuses would not survive a birth, says Philip Khokhar.
Since the Supreme Court's ruling, several Democratic-controlled states, such as New York, California, and Maryland, have introduced freer abortion laws, while Republican-dominated states—especially in the southern United States—have banned or restricted abortion.
Kamala Harris often uses the issue of free abortion to attack Donald Trump - for example at the voter meeting here on September 20 in the state of Wisconsin:

Shot himself in the foot

A ban on abortion has for decades been a big wish of the right-wing in the Republican Party in particular.
And during his time as president, Donald Trump appointed three conservative Supreme Court justices who in 2022 helped tip the majority to overturn Roe v. Wade.
But even though it is in many ways Donald Trump's greatest political achievement, he tries to talk as little as possible about it in the election campaign, says Philip Khokhar:
- It is a huge achievement that only his Republican base is happy about. That is why Trump finds it difficult to announce what he thinks about the abortion issue.
Read also : DR in the USA: At the abortion clinic, the doctor must hide behind a mask
Among other things, Donald Trump has called himself a "protector" of women and claimed that American women will not "think about abortion" if he is elected.
- He zig zags a bit when it comes to abortion, says Philip Khokhar, who assesses that Donald Trump has not escaped very nicely from talking about the subject.
Therefore, the abortion issue puts Donald Trump in a difficult situation for the election on November 5, says Philip Khokhar:
- This makes it difficult for him to appeal to the more moderate voters in particular.

Central issue of the Harris campaign

In the democratic camp, abortion is seen as a winning cause. And that is why Kamala Harris - opposite Donald Trump - has made the issue of free abortion one of her most important issues in the election campaign, says Philip Khokhar.

This has been evident over the past week, when the Democratic presidential candidate has toured various American media and, among other things, pleaded for the right to free abortion.
Philip Khokhar points out that because it was the Supreme Court that removed the constitutionally guaranteed right to abortion, neither Joe Biden nor Kamala Harris has been able to prevent abortion bans in the individual states:
- Therefore, it is very easy for the Democrats to criticize Trump on this point.

Seven out of ten Americans are opposed to a national ban - and Kamala Harris takes advantage of that to that extent, says Philip Khokhar:
- WE see a Kamala Harris who repeatedly says at her voter meetings that if Donald Trump becomes president, there will be a national ban on abortion.
Donald Trump has also recently promised to veto any federal abortion ban - despite the fact that there are forces in the Republican Party who would like it introduced.
And there is one reason for that, says Philip Khokhar:
- Trump knows very well that it is the majority of the American population that decides the election - not the Republican voter base.

Expert on Trump's military threat against the 'enemy from within': 'It's unprecedented'

Trump's threats give rise to fears that an extended storm against Congress may take place, says Niels Bjerre-Poulsen.

The Republican presidential candidate, Donald Trump, suggests that military forces can be used against the enemy from within on election day.
He says this in an interview with Fox News, The Wall Street Journal writes, among others .
- I believe that the big problem is people who come from within our own country. We have some sick, radical left-wing lunatics and they can be handled very easily - if necessary by the National Guard - or if really necessary by the military, says Trump.
He explains that the United States has two kinds of enemies. Those from outside, which include China and Russia. And then there are those from the inside. And they are the ones who are more difficult to handle, he says during the interview.

Expert: Threat should be taken seriously

Niels Bjerre-Poulsen, who is a lecturer in American politics at SDU, says that such a statement from an American presidential candidate is unprecedented.
- There is no precedent for threatening to deploy the military because you believe there are political opponents who are more dangerous than foreign powers, says Niels Bjerre-Poulsen.
The fact that Trump is not in the White House right now means that the threat will be difficult to carry out on election day, says Niels Bjerre-Poulsen. Nevertheless, he believes that the threat must be taken seriously. He does this for two reasons.
- The fear is that the threat could lead to an extended version of 6 January 2021 (the storm against Congress, ed. ). It can be seen as a call to his supporters and paramilitary groups to do what he suggests he will do. Although he is not a sitting president, he still has the ability to incite his supporters to action, he says.

Can move the form of government in the United States

The other fear that the interview raises is what Trump will do if he is elected president. And here it is Trump's political opponents in particular who can be targeted.
- During his first presidential term, among other things, the Ministry of Justice was a brake for him. But many imagine that a possible second presidential term for Trump will be a revenge against former opponents, where we say goodbye to the limitations set by a liberal constitution and where we move into a different form of government, says Niels Bjerre-Poulsen .
It is a case that the New York Times has also described .

Trump threatens Joe Biden with lawsuits if Biden is not granted immunity. (Photo: © Will Oliver, Ritzau Scanpix)
He explains that Donald Trump has shown on repeated occasions that he has wanted to make use of extraordinary methods. Among other things, he points out that Trump has threatened legal proceedings against Biden if Trump wins.

The former defense minister has put the brakes on

In addition, he points out that Trump should have asked the former Secretary of Defense Mark Esper to give an illegal order to shoot at demonstrators in connection with the demonstrations after the police killing of George Floyd. Trump's promise was that he would subsequently pardon the defense minister, but Mark Esper still refused to obey, says Niels Bjerre-Poulsen.
In an interview with NPR, Mark T. Esper said back in 2022 that he chose to stay in the Trump administration because he was worried about what would happen if he left it.
However, Trump has previously denied the order to shoot protesters in the legs.

- I don't think there are any authorities who don't take the threats seriously. Some of Trump's supporters explain that Trump's statements may be metaphorical and should not be taken literally. But I think he means those things literally, says Niels Bjerre-Poulsen.
Joe Biden said last week, according to NBC News , that he believes the election will be free and fair, but that he does not know if it will go peacefully for him

Okay...I don't get this at all. What kind of venue has their parking lot on a 2 hour walk away?

And why blame the mayor? The architect, yes. The organisation, obviously (news flash: Trump can't even decently run a rally. do YOU trust him with running the country?).

Oh...wait. I get it. Coachella is in a deep blue district, so if things fuck up, it can't POSSIBLY be caused by Donald Trump, whom (in his words) never screwed up anything ever in history.
