No the deal is Putin wants all the extra land he has taken since the war started on top of those three oblasts. Also, Russia never had boots on the ground in Ukraine until 2022, they just armed the separatists. After that maidan revolution because of that asshole Yanukovych backtracking on the promise he made to have closer ties with western europe in favor of a russian vassal state deal. Thats what caused all this crap in the first place, i agree with 90% of what you are saying anyways so i dont really want to get into a lengthy debate about it. The history of Ukraine and Russia is a lot more complicated than 99% of the western public realise. Kiev 8 centuries ago was the original capital and birthplace of the Russian people (Kievan Rus) it wasnt until a long time after that did Moscow even get built and Peter the Great was the person who built Saint Petersburg since he hated living in Moscow and wanted a Russian port into the Atlantic. Something that wasnt possible at the time since the muslims nomadic tribes controlled most of the Black Sea.

The national identity of Ukrainians and Russians has had longer to develop than the national identity of Americans distinct from the British - just think about that a moment

We like to pretend a few hundred years isn't a long time when looking at shared history, but a whole people can come about in that amount of time easily

Hell Canada act is so recent

In all honesty the sad part is if the GOP put in a nominee with a brain they would very well win this election by a landslide, you know, like Tucker Carlson, Ben Shapiro (even though i would have concerns about what his middle east policy would be), Ron DeSanctis.
I was with you until you named those three as your examples of Republicans with a brain. All three of them are just Trump ass-kissers themselves, they've dedicated their entire careers to it. Whatever comes next, Republicans will have to find leaders with a spine who were willing to stand up to him, or at the very least kept their distance and kept his stench off themselves.

Instead they went for a megalomaniac moron who has the vocabulary of a 5 year old, acts like 14 year old boy and has the humility of a gangsta street rapper. I have no stake in this, im an aussie fwiw. But id say im a little bit right of centre and id vote for either of those three had the gop put them forward instead of the colossal moron they went with. Its fine using simple language so the public understands what your saying and what your plans are, but im 100% sure thats the only way he can talk, he only knows around 700-800 words at most. Only good thing that would come out of the sexist pig winning the election is im fairly certain the ukraine war will be over soon, and the aussie dollar will start to be worth more against the greenback quickly (which is good since i tend to buy a lot of steam keys where the prices are based off US currency).

As it is if i was a gambling man (which im not i hate gambling), if oddschecker etc still have the Bigly as the short price favorite and Kamala is still around 3/4 to 1 id throw a few hundred dollars on that at least. I'll be absolutely shocked if the orange haired simpleton gets anywhere near the 270 he needs
If you'd vote for Tucker Carlson or Meatball DeSantis, you're not "a little centre right". You're an enabler of fascist policies, end of.

Well thats what the political compass told me when i took it a while ago. I'll take it again and see if its changed. tbh if it says that and you mention something completely different, maybe your idea of fascist and centrist is a little bit off whack respectfully.

edit: the compass actually says im centre left weirdly enough. far from the far right fascist you say my opinion is.

expecting coherent political philosophies from someone on the internet, are we?
when they were given specific questions about policies and directions, they were auth left
when given the spin by the media, they think tucker fucking carlson has their best interests at heart
it doesn't matter what the candidates actually believe in if the populace is propagandized to to the extent that their perception of reality is warped
republicans polled in 2015 overwhelmingly hated obamacare, but a majority had a positive opinion of the affordable care act, because they had/have no idea that they're the same, they just know that obamacare wants to destroy their right to choose their provider
this is the same shit

Agree they would have this in the bag with literally anyone else
If Chris Christie was the nom, maybe. DeSantis is incredibly unpopular, and Nikki Haley had to pander to white supremacists when giving an answer about the civil war.

That said, Christie isn't without his scandals either like bridge gate and those beach closing which were done for petty reasons

Probably need someone like Brian Kemp, while he wouldn't have been my choice, he is someone that didn't fall in line with Trump.

That said, Idk how many MAGA people would not vote for Republicans or just not vote at all, if Trump wasn't on the ballot.

I think that's their biggest challenge. You have a number of never Trumpers who will either vote Dem or abstain.

And you have only Trumpers who won't vote if Trump isn't on the ticket.

Maybe the donald could get Melania and Ivanka to make some Onlyfans pron to raise campaign money since most corporations arent stupid enough to give this moron anything anymore. I'm sure the 60 I.Q maga conspiracy simpletons would go gaga over that. He might even get enough to relaunch his bestest greatest highest of high grade super fantastic prime steak line that was so successful last time. Instead of selling it in an electronics store he could sell them at a hardware store. In line with how brilliant his business moves in the past have always been. Just put a bunch of adjectives in front of what hes selling, put the word trump in big capital letters in the middle, and put a big TM at the end of it. Greatest genius businessman of all the universes

Kamala now ahead in PA, MI, WI, NV and very very close in GA and AZ

She has nearly reversed all of Trump's gains and the momentum is accelerating
