Correct, as the Voter ID is just (or primarily) for voting. Here in Michigan your Voter ID comes free with your State ID.

It must suck to have to certify the election results when you are the loser. I suspect after this she will fade to the background of the Democratic Party as with excess of 1 Billion USD spent, I find it hard to believe any donors will get behind a second run. Likely the next candidate will be a man.

The issue wasn't that she was a woman. Tulsi Gabbard would have had a shot to become president. But there were just a few things that were problematic:

- Trump is extremely popular. It took Biden 14 million extra votes above the normal democratic votes to beat him.
- Clinton's played the "break the glass ceiling" card way too much, after Obama's "first black president" card, people were put off. Difference too is that Obama had charisma, which Clinton was lacking.
- as for Kamala, she just wasn't likeable at all. Word soup talking, only had the "but Trump!" Argument, weird constant laughing, no charisma at all, and saying you need to fix what you've created yourself wasn't the best argument to win voters over.

Allthough, I do not think anyone could have beaten Trump now. People wanted and needed a change, and Trump was the best option for that.

I don't even have a problem with it on principle, but then the DMV shouldn't only be open Monday through Friday 8-4.

In Wisconsin, Scott Walker implemented voter ID law and proceeded to then shut down DMVs in Milwaukee and Madison too.

Its $10 for a 4 year, $19 for a 8 year ID, here in Ohio. Not as bad as $40 atleast. But I agree you should be required to show an ID when voting, nationwide.

That require a large change to Help America Vote Act of 2002 that senate lacked 60 votes that is necessary to break the filibuster, also state and federal bickering don't help but more chaos and confusion. California has to follow the federal law that require US citizen to be able to vote for federal office, so noncitizens votes are limited to local like school board or mayor.

I have military ID (federal ID) as backup if my driver license expires, also military ID is used for flying if Real ID is required for ride on airplane next year.

So far election this year is

214 R / 204 D (51% vs 49%)

17 seats up for grabs

So if R wins all 17 it would be 231 R / 204 D or 53%

A win sure, but red wave? And the actual margin is likely to be closer - that's the theoretical best

It's still razor thin all around
