Why don't we request a recount or something? (I'm aware i'm stupid)

We should always help those willing to learn, so:

A recount is only useful when the result for a state was close. Close being under a certain percentage if the total vote, I don't recall the exact number anymore. A recount can be requested in those cases, because there could have been counting errors, especially when they are counted by hand.

Best example was in 2000, when Florida was the deciding state, and Bush won that with 537 votes (from over 6 million votes). That case was so extreme, and they had to recount so much, that the court had to step in.

In 2020, there also were a few close calls (though not so extreme close as 2000), that a recount could be requested.

Now, the numbers are so devistating and the difference so huge, that no recounts can be requested from Kamala.

If you need any more info, nor have any more questions, feel free to ask. Everyone has to start somewhere when learling, regardless of the age

It is extremely rare for recount to change the outcome, especially closest election with less than 100 between two candidates.

Most states have automatic recount for margin less than 1% to ensure that there is no error with machine.

Trump won PA, MI, WI and NV in thousand numbers, so recount isn't going to change the outcome at all.

Now, election is over and life goes on. I don't have strong interest in politics today, unlike when I was young adult in 2006, even not thrilled with election nowadays.

Voter ID and proof of citizenship should be a thing, but in exchange, ID cards should also be "free". I want my free tax payer funded ID card!
I don't even have a problem with it on principle, but then the DMV shouldn't only be open Monday through Friday 8-4.
A non driver's license is actually free too

In Wisconsin, Scott Walker implemented voter ID law and proceeded to then shut down DMVs in Milwaukee and Madison too.

You won't get any government organization to be open outside of banking hours, it's just unrealistic.

Not here, it's like 41 dollars in PA.

Also, in 2016, they didn't even ID me when voting, and I could have easily voted for my dad and his friend if I wanted to. They wouldn't have been very happy, lol. But this year, they ID me, and wrote down my ID card number. They also told me my ID card was very outdated, which I knew, since it expired in 2022, lol.

Its $10 for a 4 year, $19 for a 8 year ID, here in Ohio. Not as bad as $40 atleast. But I agree you should be required to show an ID when voting, nationwide.

That's by design here. The DMV is an organization where it should be.

And I guess the non driver's license ID being free must vary per state then.

Which in some states makes that a poll tax. Which is unconstitutional.

I can understand them charging a few dollars for the plastic, card maker maintenance, etc. for a non driver's license. Free is not really free, as someone has to pay for it...

If it's going to be required to vote, it should be free and easily accessible, otherwise it becomes a poll tax which is unconstitutional.

Only if the sole purpose of your ID is to vote. However, state ID is used for many things, like proving you are old enough to drink at the bar...
