I am looking to add the signing bug to two different IOS files (IOS53, IOS55), but my Wii does not have any connection to the internet, nor can I get one. I used the Wii Update File Extractor application to obtain these two files from a disc. I tried using DOP-IOS Mod, but couldn't figure out anything there. Is it possible to either use a computer program to patch the bug into it, or can I install it onto the Wii console without it, and then patch it in afterwards?

In addition, I tried using the NUS downloader to trucha sign IOS53, but when I tried to install it using the WAD Manager, I got an error -2011.

My Wii is at the 3.0U firmware, and the only modifications that I have done to the console is install the Homebrew Channel, and install BootMii as Boot2. All of my current IOS versions (up to IOS35) should still have the signing bug present.

Thanks in advance for any help!

Elementary, my dear OP.

Download every single IOS using NUSD (The latest ones that are not stubbed would do good), do not package it into a WAD. Take note of the name of the folder (Should be somewhere along the lines of 00000001000000efv3614 or something like that) and rename it to the "vXXX" where the XXX are in accords to the version you downloaded.

Create a new folder and name it the directory to something like this "000000ef". To find the correct one, you should refer to the original folder name and look for the numbers AFTER "00000001" and BEFORE the version.

Do this for every other IOS, get Pimp My Wii, and do "Run test and fix problems"

You can make the process easier with NUS folder renamer though
Just run it in the NUSD directory and it creates a 00000001 folder thats ready to be copied to SD

Get it here (its windows only though)

edit: thats for DOP-IOS only, not pimp my wii

. But I'm back, so it's a "o hai!" moment.

NUSD has a folder renamer? Sweet, this'll be used when I don't want to ass over and rename folders and moving them here and there.

I thought Pimp My Wii had an offline mode? If not, screw me then.

I tried the Pimp My Wii method, but haven't been able to install anything, and the NUS Folder Renamer doesn't work on my computer for whatever reason.

Would it hurt anything to just install those IOS versions (53, 55) with no signing bug present? From what I understand, as long as I have IOS versions with the signing bug and ES commands, I should be able to delete them whenever I want, correct? I also have a BootMii NAND backup, so I'm assuming that I could also just revert back to that in order to get rid of them.

Once again, thanks in advance!

    Interesting lol

I think I watched a video where two games at 4K where eating just over 16GB of RAM and it's the one case where the 7900XT and XTX pulled ahead (minus RTX of course)

So my opinion is that they could age a bit better in the future, and maybe AMD will continue improving them via drivers like they tend to do. No guarantee there but they have done it in the past. Just a feeling I have.

cyberpunk at 4k without DLSS/fidelityfx *might* exceed 12gb

but that game barely runs at native 4k
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
I think it was some newer games and probably poorly optimized PS4 or PS5 ports
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
they definitely will age better but i feel dlss might outweigh that since it looks about as good as native resolution and much less demanding

When I played Cyberpunk on my old 2080 Ti it sucked lol

AMD could introduce something comparable to DLSS but nvidia's got a lot more experience with that
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
least amd 7xxx has tensor cores which the previous generations didn't so there is the potential for AI upscaling
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
They have FSR or whatever it's called and yeah it's still not great
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
so AMD seem to finally be starting to take AI seriously
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
Oh yeah those new 8000 CPUs have AI cores built in that's interesting
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
Maybe they plan on offloading to the CPU?
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
Would be kinda cool to have the CPU and GPU working in random more
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
    Tandem even
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
i think i heard of that, it's a good idea, shouldn't need a dedicated GPU just to run a LLM or video upscaling
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
even the nvidia shield tv has AI video upscaling
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
LLMs can be run on cpu anyway but it's quite slow

Have you ever been beaten by a wet spaghetti noodle by your girlfriend because she has a twin sister, and you got confused and fucked her dad?
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
I had a girlfriend who had a twin sister and they would mess with me constantly.... Until one chipped a tooth then finally I could tell them apart.... Lol
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
They would have the same hair style the same clothes everything... Really messed with my head lol
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
@The Real Jdbye, I could see AMD trying to pull off the CPU GPU tandem thing, would be a way to maybe close the gap a bit with Nvidia. Plus it would kinda put Nvidia at a future disadvantage since Nvidia can't make X86/64 CPUs? Intel and AMD licensing issues... I wonder how much that has held back innovation.
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
i don't think nvidia wants to get in the x64 cpu market anyways
