Actually consoles for display last surprisingly long time considering how vulnerable they are to overheating.
The display screams "It's freaking sauna in here!"

Come to think about it, that RROD on display is VERY discouraging to consumers.
"Oh lookie, that 360 RROD'ed I suddenly don't feel like buying one" and puts down Falcon chipped 360.

Haha it's funny I've never seen anyone with a RRoD 360 myself except for in stores... HMV, FutureShop, EB Games... They've all got bricked 360's due to the immense heat building up inside those little cages.
