Homebrew Trimming genesis roms to get them working on jenesisds?

So, by doing a quick search, it appears that genesis roms must be < 3mb to play on the jenesisds emulator. I am trying to play mortal kombat 2, but it is slight over 3mb and I beleive that's why it won't load. I know the emulator can play this game because I saw it being played on youtube. That being said, I was wondering if anyone knew of any software I could use to trim the genesis rom...

Nevermind - that rom and many others work on version 0.7, but for some reason many of the same roms don't work with version 0.7.4...Now if only there was a way to set up d-pad scrolling on version 0.7...
