    inb4 pedobear.

The irony of the situation is amazing.. also, how did this shit happen? Was it a hack/exploit? Looks like Trendnet didn't secure the actual page, probably just some login screen.

I've been browsing unprotected web and security cam feeds for years with certain online communities.
Who even cares? 99% of the time it was just people watching TV or empty rooms.

Wow this is sad, I hope this won't be an ongoing event throughout this whole year.

    One's an incident, two's a coincidence, three's a pattern, but thousands?

    That's a Trendnet.

@Andim: Now that I have read your post once more, you shouldn't have told me that (I don't whether you was boasting, gloating, or whatever) it just gives me an impression that you can stalk me anytime you want to. Not to sound all too whiny about it but now it makes surveillance security a joke!

Glad I do and it has an activity light so I know when it's active.

    Glad I don't use Trendnet.

What, is this as simple googling the following:

    inurl:"MultiCameraFrame?Mode="

Seriously, that's all it took some years ago to browse through a ton of unsecured web cams.

Depending upon the vintage of the thing it can as as simple as a GUI selectable software setting to disable the light.

Anyway in some ways I thought the prevalence of NAT kind of prevented much of this compared to earlier times. That said when I do try out some of software that comes bundled with security cameras I install it does often make it but a few steps to sort a dynamic DNS and more out.

Yay! It's like Big Brother! Now we can go there and be bored by genuine reality footage of people doing nothing with their lives instead of carefully faked and utterly useless footage of pretend people doing nothing with their lives. Living the dream!

I don't get it... did Trendnet offer some kind of webcam security service?

Sadly this will be a good attempt of a Micheal Bay movie. Like attacking Trendnet for being the enemy!
